v just cant change captains n captains stick to one captain till wc2011
excellent point.
so, Malik is back as captain. now be principled, stick to what you said up there and hold your peace for a couple of years.
funny how when Afridi becomes captain, the fanboys preach patience and want the PCB to stick with one captain for a while. when anyone else is captain, they want to change the captain twice every over.
aah yes, to be accused of being a fan of one player by Afridi fanboys... I must be doing something right.
I've been accused of favoring Malik because he is from Sialkot... except I hate Imran Nazir and Ijaz Ahmed with a passion - both of them are also from Sialkot. I only favored Malik because I thought he used his brain, played for the team according to the need of the situation. but having read the findings of the committee, I am disgusted by Malik's shenanigans. he deserves to be punished. in fact he should have also gotten a life ban along with Younis and Yousuf. Kamran and Umar Akmal also deserved much harsher punishment.
my only problem is consistency. how does Afridi get away when he has been doing for the last 5+ years. even Laxman said that Afridi had no idea or respect for team ethics. so why does he get away with it? why is Younis Khan considered innocent when Aaqib Javed fingered him as one of the troublemakers?
anyway, I'm a real Pak fan. Afridi fanboys are the ones who need to ask themselves if they support Pakistan or just their favorite brainless slogger. I've seen numerous comments by so-called Pak fans saying that they hoped that the team would lose when it was being led by Malik, Yousuf, etc. why? just so that the retard would become captain and set the world on fire with his Einstein-like tactics.
Samb, To be honest Shoaib Malik was as dull and laidback as Inzi, not inspirational at all. For starters Malik's batting is not test material, hence like Afridi he is not an automatic choice in the test team atleast
Plus Malik is too much into politics and groupbaazi. Both Qadir and Intikhab have seen it first hand and spoken about it in public. They cannot both be lying about this!
Atleast 'fasadi' Afridi and Younis (despite his childish tantrums at times) are able to motivate the players and that is what you want to see in a captain

GA, you're missing the point. I used Malik as an example up there. use anyone's name other than Afridi's. use Younis' example and Afridi fanboys would be praying that he fails too just so Afridi could be captain.
Qadir has as much credibility as Sarfraz Nawaaz or Rashid Qureshi which is zero. I wouldn't believe a thing they said ever. I do have respect for Intikhab Alam though. and if he said it, there must be some truth to it. it's pretty disappointing that Malik is involved in this garbage. which is why like I said he should have been a given a much harsher punishment.
I have to disagree with the motivating part. how is Younis Khan motivating players if Aqib Javed is saying that not a single player in the team liked him? and as far as Afridi is concerned, isn't this the same Afridi who after being on the verge of elimination said that this wasn't the team of his choosing and that he was forced to take this team. must have been real motivational for the team.
plus guess what. almost all captains have had to lead teams with players they didn't choose. no one gave them a break when the results sucked because of that. why should Afridi get away with this excuse?
Re: Are we focusing on the bigger picture? Test Series in England/Main WC next year
Samb u even r against Younis as captain .......
u saying younis didnt motivated his players .....he took us to the semis of champions trophy .....v fought till the end ..
won the cup for us ....he was never like this unless come stupid players which involved malik too took oath against him n said they won play under him ....
coz he was brining new talent to the team ....n the seniors were in danger
v didnt knew about Amir ....from all of a sudden he was in t20 cup 2009
v didnt about umar ....he bought him up in thr srilanka series .....
Re: Are we focusing on the bigger picture? Test Series in England/Main WC next year
yes, I'm against Younis as captain. but like I said all the players who conspired against him need to be punished severely. btw, just as an fyi that might include Yousuf and Afridi too. in fact Yousuf was definitely part of the gang trying to remove Younis. and wasn't Afridi's name being bandied about as one of the players who had a problem with Younis. I believe they even did a press conference together where they said that they'd buried the hatched, etc after Younis was reinstated. wonder what that was all about.
so, just giving a heads up to people so they don't turn on Younis after finding out that their favorite players (whether it is Yousuf or Afridi) were also part of the anti-Younis camp.
my problem with Younis is what Aqib Javed said - he didn't get along with any player because of his attitude. this is generally what happens to people who don't know how to handle promotions/senior ranks. if you can't get along with anyone in the team, how on earth are you going to lead it?

That might be the case of late but I won't be surprised if this has more to do with Malik (or X) led groupbaazi or playerpower. We saw many examples of Younus's motivational powers on the tours of India and England in 2005 and 2006 when Inzi was the captain and had to leave the field for a session or two for some reason and Younis took over from him. His field placings and bowling rotations were inspirational and suddenly there was a new spark in the field and fighting spirit among players not seen earlier in the day.
plus Younus did lead us to glory in 2009 World T20!

Younis in general is unstable... always has been. Malik didn't tell him to throw a tantrum when he was made the captain first time and resign after not wanting to be a "dummy captain". even Bob (what a wonderful guy he was) was shocked and upset at Younis' behavior. Malik didn't tell him to turn down the captaincy after the 2007 world cup.
and I love how Malik's name is always used as the ringleader. when it was Maulana Yousuf and Maulana Inzimam who were organizing the anti-Younis oathtaking ceremonies in one maulana sahib's hotel room or the other maulana sahib's house.
it doesnt matter what Aaqib javed said ...he himself was trying to keep his seat at that time
o khuda kay banday, kaheen tau tikko... kaheen tau kharray hau. every post brings a different story.
so, Aqib Javed was lying because he was trying to protect his job? then Intikhab must have been telling the truth because he was also trying to protect his job? oh bhai, how about a little bit of consistency... not a lot. just a little bit every now and then. just asking for a little bit of inconsistent consistency.
btw, the committee banned Younis using the same "untrustworthy" Aqib Javed's testimony as part of evidence against Younis Khan among other players.
Mark my words he will be the test captain this summer.
And despite all the criticism he has done ok if not brilliantly with the bat in back to back series (Australia and World T20). English conditions will test his technique for sure
I can see Pakistan losing all 6 tests this summer (with this batting line-up)!!
