And saadiaB, you didn't know that old people have sex? Come on, are you THAT naive? Your parents are probably still sexually active, it is a human thing to be sexual.

Helloooooo,
MY tone was meant to be scarastic. I wasnt serious and no I am not that naive. :)
I find it a bit hard to hear someone who's young and without kids to be so judgemental.... ...having children is a gift, no matter what your age and I really don't see how age makes a difference...SURE you're older and a bit out of shape but older parents are much more chill and relaxed.
A friend of mine is in her forties and she was comparing her children's early childhood with a friend who had her first child at 40...she said that her friend was so much more a calmer mom, relaxed and easy going and all she remember was being stressed out, young and not knowing what to do...she always tells me yes there are losses to having children at a later age but there are benefits for you and the child....
This is a very difficult subject to discuss because having kids is something that is so specific to personal experiences....you can't say that a particular time in life is the "right" time for anyone. It varies so greatly.
If the couple chose to have a child late in life, good for them. I prefer to look at it as a reflection of their zest and zeal for life and their way of saying, "We love the company of our children so much that we wanted to have another."
Regarding the physical aspect of being able to keep up with the activities of small children....well, if they have elder siblings, the parents need not be the ones doing everything. Think back fifty years ago and you will see that, especially in eastern culture, it was the elder siblings that took care of the younger ones....with the parents playing only a supervisory role. Perhaps that is the way this family will chose to structure itself.
