Don't you think I should decide what makes them comfortable and what doesnt since I know them? if I knew they wouldnt be comfortable I wouldnt be disappointed at all. That's not the issue here.

some people here are making me feel like I’ve done a horrible thing by posting about this event :smack:. I’ve read posts about the smallest little things so is mine. I mean I was upset so I wanted to take it out and share with you guys and know if anyone has ever been through this situation. Anywhooooo I’m fine now and thanks for the replies :slight_smile: and a bigger thanks to those that tried to make me feel better :):)

see i can truly understand what u most have felt that day, because i have went through these situation a lot of time. once on my bday me, my so called best friend and her boyfriends and bunch of other friend when for a movie and dinner. i wanted to feel a little special, because it was my bday and my best friend had a fight with her boyfriends,spoil her mood and all the people around her.she just left . i was left thinking that i have done so much for her and for one day she couldn,t make me happy and stay quite or wait for my happiness , but noooo
JUST DON,T CARE ABOUT THESE FRIENDS, BECAUSE U HAVE A PERSON THAT LOVE'S AND CARES FOR U SO MUCH ,MAKE HIM YOUR BEST FRIEND AND THEN U WILL NOT NEED ANYONE ELSE AND U WILL SEE WHEN U STOP CARING these friends THEY WILL COME RUNNING BEHIND U TAKE CARE

isnt this the time of the semester when everyone is busy with projects, assignments and exams......

well it happened with me too....
my family threw a surperize party for me and as i am really selected with my frds and there was this girl who i was really close with. so my mom called her up and asked her to join us with dinner.....her school was jst 2 min walk from out house, she made an excuze that she cant come cuz of her class and ma mom was like y dont u come whenever u class finishes cuz 'she' is in school too and not comeing home till 9pm so u can come, even for 5 minutes....she is gona b really happy to see u...

but she never showed up.....when my mom told me abt this....it made me mad...
i'm the kind of person who can easily patch up with frds / family....

she made n excuze that her parents dont allow her to go to anyone's house....
huh yeh sure!

but u know what....i have this best friend and we know each other for more than 10 years not....but can you actually believe that living in the same area we never went to each other's bday parties/ we never called each other to wish on bday / nor on new year

but we r best friends.....she lives couple of streets down the road but its been over 4 months we havent met....and last time i talked to her for only 5 minutes was more than a month ago....

but trust me she is my BEST friend, she is one of the person who i can really count on and if i am down in the middle of the night ....i can call her up and b sure that she is gona listen to me

so dont worry abt who showed up n who didnt.....mayb some of them werent really ur best frd but mayb some of them had a really gud excuze...like one of the person said above that they didnt felt gud coming to a party where there were some stranger guys.... not all family allow their daughters to go to mix parties...

well i would definitely not show up to my frd's party if i knew there r gona b some guys there

What makes u doubt her excuze? Does she attend other bdays at peoples home? I know plenty of girls who wont join u if you celebrate your bday at home, cuz their families dont approve. Yet, the same girls will join you if you celebrate your bday outside home ..

I think i would be the same way..esp if it's a family thing and im the only "outsider"...i just owuldn't feel comfortable...

Maverick, this year i decided to do somethign special for my b-day, after years of disappointments.. well this year turned out no different, at the last second three people cancelled on me, one well i can't ever be mad at no matter what she does, one who had a good eXcuse and even if she was lying, she's just not that important for me to care. Another gave the lamest excuse ever...i still wish i could've given hre a piece of my mind but oh well. that made me realize who wasn't a true friend.......

thanks sara and you’re right it made me realize the same thing. I mean if a friend has a reason then tht’s different but u know ur friends and u know when they’re giving lame excuses that make no sense. Oh well the funny thing is my friend that didnt coordinate with my fiance to give him numbers of some of my friends is having her bday party next week and i’m invited hehe and guess what I’m not going :snooty::stuck_out_tongue: Sigh People are weird!
