^ Well, based on the following it seems, there are different view-points amongst judaism on who to accept as a jew, so its really not cut-and-dried that all jews only accept babies born to jewish mothers to be jewish. It varies in severity amongst different branches.

Also, there are many different branches within Judaism, which interpret the law differently. So, it really depends on whom you talk to.
Some Jews consider only the two tribes of Israel left behind in Jerusalem as the covenant bearers. Some believe all others who were displaced are part of that brotherhood (i.e. the lost tribes) While some consider a true Jew to be born of the Jewish mother, others believe any one of the parent being Jewish legitimizes the claim.

I remember, when Imran Khan married Jamima, some people claimed she is jewish, while some others refuted the claim by saying she is not jewish because her mother is not jewish (even though the father was a jew), and that, they claimed, meant she is not accepted as a jew.

rvikz, what will it take to make you stick to the topic and away from issues of arab tribes? Seriously dude, you should read the thread to find out the question or the discussion before coming in with your brilliant and insightful queries. Its in really poor form to come in again and again with irrelevant one-liner repetitive questions.

impression is jewish are exlcusive so are arabs and everybody
seeks security in group identity.
^ If you wish to draw comparisons, then yes... Arabs as a race are exclusive, same as Aryans, Mongols or Cherokees or anyone else. The concept of race or tribes invites exclusivity. But Judaism/Jewish faith is supposed to be a religion. Most other faiths are welcoming. Islam, for example, goes so far as to say that all babies are muslims at birth. This is not how jews like to think. Atleast not according to the info posted in this thread.
rvikz.. thanks for posting the exact same URL which NYA had already posted a few posts above you. But then again, to expect that you actually read the thread before responding is perhaps asking a bit too much. :-)

can't you leave poor souls aside who can't even see what had psoted before?
Anyways,
you expalined my question...so it means two groups in jewish ?
one go by mother and other don't and hence jemima was not accepeted...interesting!
so atleast in that one group accepted(jewism) jews are not accpeted!
so now we left with the other group, which is obvious that they can accept , isn't ?
i dont know if its true, but when david duke was in bahrain, i asked him and he said that jews dont accept converts easily....
and even if u convert, u wont get the same right as a pure jew....
being jew is not about belonging to the religion, but about belonging to the race....
and if ur genes dont have it, u just dont have it....
now why i think that he wasnt just making it up, and was telling the truth cuz the guy dint care to lie when i asked him how he feels about Islam spreading in america....
he dint care that he was in a muslim country, his trip funded by a leading islamic organziation in the country, talking to a muslim and surrounded by hundreds of muslims....
he was plain and clear "i dislike and oppose that as i dislike and oppose the jews taking control of my country"....
