Yep - France, Japan, India, UK… to name the few…
France is probably the closest thing to a Real Democracy.
Some strive to achieve, some don’t.. Its better to try than not.
Let democracy flourish ![]()

Don't forget Muslim Burning INDIAN Democracy in CAPITAL LETTERS :)
You are doing a disservice by putting it in lower case :)
I wouldnt waste my time with "wavy hands"...democracy...right...totally....;)
Pure democracy will never happen. If it does it will cause more problems than dictatorship.
Why didnt u mention Canada? Or is it too small of a country to mention?
Switzerland?
India is the world’s largest democracy. The country’s 1 billion residents speak 1,500 languages and dialects
***The caste system still prevails in this “democracy”..all hail touchables…
it would have been worse if other syystem existed . first of all other sysytem wont work. coup evey 3 years is not to be expected.
india is more integrated than pakistan. afterall you did not integrate
bangaldesh. pakistanis cant handle 3 ethnic groups. arabs despite
same religen and language could not even form a single state under
one god despite monotheism.

I am sure these words are very comforting to the thousands of Muslims burnt to death by the Hindus, and over a hundred thousand Muslims sent to the refugee camps.

Yeah... Democracy alright... Rvikz, you can elect more Modis and be proud of the great democratic system you have set up... Dont give us advices, our general is fine...
What does having 1 billion people and 1500 different languages have to do with being a democracy.
I agree India is closer to Democracy than Pak but they shouldn't be even included in the top 30 with what kind of things going on in the country for the past year.
Re: Are There Any Democracies In The World?
The country you just named are not even in the top 10 list of most democratic countries.
INDIA is #68 of 149, thats democracy allright
it is much easier to run a country like finland japan with almost 100% homogenous population than multi religious multilingual countries.

rvkiz, countries like USA, Australia, Canada, Netherland are all multi religious/ multi cultural countries.
And they are ranked in top 15.
So I don't think that should be the excuse.
people with different cultures in India are of a same origin (sub continent) but while minorities in USA, Canada, and Aus are from all around the world, so there shouldn't be no ifs and buts.
The ranking is preety old though, India might have gone down with the recent events and govt. actions.
