Are the Courts failing the nation?

After being let down immensely by the so called political leadership, the whole nation looks upto the courts to provide them justice and all we get is pending court cases with no verdicts given. Are they also getting corrupt by the day? is that the reason why none of the important cases have reached a conclusion?

What is going on?

Re: Are the Courts failing the nation?

Courts are working in an environment which is akin to that of army's working in Siachin. It is virtually state of Pakistan against the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The executive is looking for ways to be a siyaasi shaheed and the apex court simply does not want anyone to take advantage of this tussle while people sitting ready to put all the blame on the judiciary for derailing the system. It's a real Catch-22 for the top court at the moment.

Re: Are the Courts failing the nation?

for a Stable Pakistan we really need to strengthen the accountability of the Judicial system .. but thanks to our incompetent leaders this is not happening, just like Musharraf damaged and abused the judiciary system, PPP is doing pretty much the same, playing same victims cards ... they want the judiciary to make decisions according to their wishes. there is not much difference between PPP and what Musharraf did! However, judges should not bow down infront of their wishes, they should also show courage and bravery for the sake of our country.

Re: Are the Courts failing the nation?

Courts were little changed after 2009 but now again reached at 2002 stage .
No hope left from the …judges .

Re: Are the Courts failing the nation?

Nice thread Decent(^○^)
The judicial system in is third element who show his supremacy to knock down some politician almost used by army in past but in recent years specially from mushraf era it's starting to get independence by army and trying hardly to show Its presence as a third ruling power of Pakistan. They are as corrupt as others two not really interesting to solve or hear a normal citizen problems but are interested in how get a chance to grab some big fish for Luch talane ke liyeo(^▽^)o

Re: Are the Courts failing the nation?

I have only one question .
You all have been reading court decisions in past .
Even three of eight judges differed in Bhutto case .
Often judges use their legal mind and a difference note was a common thing before .
Now since last three years no one differ .
How it is possible .
Just when they decided to act as a mafia .

Re: Are the Courts failing the nation?

Let me put it this way, is the nation failing the courts???

whoever is found guilty by the court or is under charges of corruption, wins election and/or become minister.... from how many ministers who are found guilty by the court we as nation have asked them to resign????

How many times we have tried to pressurize the govt in our constituency to throw out the corrupt person??? and yes here are people who blame it is SC who is doing wrong, why the hell SC is declaring RPPs illegal??? why the hell SC is looking into corruption matter... yeah SC is failing us big time, sentencing criminals is not what SC should do, they should do what others do, loot the country and runaway... or have jalsas and foul mouth everyone....

Re: Are the Courts failing the nation?

Good lord what a question

I have question too and all Jiyalas and others who hate courts start abusing me the moment i ask them this question

What the HELL is RPPs all about??
Why there are so many irregularities in Reko Diq Project
Why the Hajis were looted
Why whenever any case is about to reach its conclusion the prosecutor is changed by the accuser?

Re: Are the Courts failing the nation?

I can not tell you about the level of corruption every where .
Politicians are blamed but others do it safely .
There is a mother of all evil
The holy cow

Re: Are the Courts failing the nation?

Yeah right!!!

How many army men were involved in Looting Hajis??? Like this political elite did???

How Many RPPs agreements were done by Army!!! the way they were done by this political elite???

can you tell me you are going to beat around the bush saying oh ! Corruption is right of politicians...

Re: Are the Courts failing the nation?

No not at all
But just go to Container Scandal
A very little example .
And end of court proceeding .

Re: Are the Courts failing the nation?

^ Are you talking about the NATO container scam?.

NAB to probe missing Nato containers scam: FBR - thenews.com.pk

Re: Are the Courts failing the nation?

^^ The problem is, when the proceeding start on someone else, they do not do dramas like PPP is doing, e.g. when things went against Khosa, he resigned from his position and not there is no news about him... we may never hear anything about it... and then come to PPP's leadership, when their is obvious case against them, they start refuting it on Media and say nothing or use delay-tactics in court... and this is just to gain sympathy of the people

and just for your information, who was prosecutor in the container scandal??? hint, Attorney General is by default prosecutor... so!!!

Re: Are the Courts failing the nation?

I appreciate PMLN for having Khosa hand over his resignation.

The most funny part was when a few days ago Zardari was claiming in Naudero that the SC took action against RPP's as they were providing electricity to the poor people of the area and many people will buy that argument. What can you say when there are some people who believe that corruption is their right or that since the rest of the country is corrupt so is PPP's government. At some stage some one will have to draw a line otherwise the country will go down the drain.

Re: Are the Courts failing the nation?

As far as the corruption cases is concerned (the jiyalas might not like it) but I think the court has done a pretty good job there, but the most important cases that I see there are the missing person and Balochistan cases, although both issues should have been resolved by the political government.

Re: Are the Courts failing the nation?

The same response by jiyalas: other are corrupt too.... and this is how we expect to "improve" the nation/country?

Re: Are the Courts failing the nation?

I always wonder if the presidential system would be more suited to Pakistan. I know there are bad examples of that in south america, but at least we can start with having separate legislative and executive branches. In the UK, the queen serves as the check on the executive, though she hasn't done much in the past decades. The executive and the legislature is really mashed up together in Pakistan with the president being elected by the ruling parties.
