Are the Contact Lenses from Pakistan safe to wear?

Hi everyone,

I remember buying contact lenses from Pakistan the last time I was there. These contact lenses were colored lenses but were also for my vision. They cost me about 2-3000k rs for the pair. The guy who sold them to me said that this 1 pair of contact lenses would last me 2 years. That sounds crazy to me as I never heard of lenses that last this long.

My question is… are the contact lenses from Pakistan safe to wear? Do you think that is possible for these contact lenses to last 2 years?

I would love to hear some feedback from you guys as some of you may have experience contact lenses from Pakistan.

ive never heard of lenses lasting 2 years. the most i have heard is 1 year. as for paki brands, not sure

I had lenses that lasted me about 2 years....no problem with them. as long as u take them out and put them inasolution every nite it shouldn't be a problem.

diff types of contact lenses have diff life expectancy, and then what duration they are designed for, obviously daily wears cant be worn for weeks and weekly wears cant be worn for months

f your prescription doesn’t change and you take care of your gas permeable lenses, you can go two or three years without replacing them.

I've checked with Specsavers and they told me that I have to pay them £20 each month for checking my eyes and lens, after 3 months I'll have to buy new pair of contact lenses as they will expire in 3 months. Oh and cost of lens(around £30-40) is separate.

colored lenses are usually disposable. the ones like dura soft . extended wear are mostly transparent and they can last up to 15 months at a max.

in pak, go for contacts from a well known optician..such as OPTICA in liberty, lahore

they are great ! i use them almost every day :)

Were your lenses colored or for vision or both? How much did you pay for them and what was the brand?

Thanks for the replies guys.... keep them coming. I was hesitant to buy contact lenses from Pak but now am feeling a little assured. When the guy at the lens store sold me the lenses and told me they would last 2 years I just thought he was like all the other vendors in Pak who lie to you and sell garbage.

Well, have been using ones bought from Pakistan for years, as I live in Pakistan. Can't go anywhere else to buy them. Have no complaints so far. I have used grey ones and transparent.

Mine lasted for 1 yr and I used freshlook colorblend contacts ..I love them as they give a very natural look and don't make me look like a witch out for trick o treating :p

aray yar for so many years i used colored lenses (i also have vision prb) and i bought them for 2-3000 rs.. yeh aj se atleast 5-6 yrs porani baat hia.. dunno how mch they cost now. but i guess u can use them for 6months to a year. it depends.. but i know for sure they have expired the moment i feel itching feeling in my eye after puttin lense.. then i know i have to buy a new pair

Omg i bought a coloured cosmetic lenses for 1000rupee from pak and they were imported from Korea lol :d i just wore them for max 3times and when i realized i had them sleeping somewhere of my room when i found them like after 2months they were all dried up and cracked. Funny!!
