i just saw talats program and m very thrilled to know the success of law enforcement agencies, i am not thrilled at the content but who is presenting it, as talat has been there in bajaur just few days before launching of army operations and he can do a comparison and he is no hamid mir type.
my thoughts for these talibans are no different than generals, they are crooks, thugs, and criminals…
if you take away bajaur you take life out of taliban and this is only reason why they army kept low in swat and concentrated on bajaur, mohmand and khyber agencies , and mula fazlu agreeing to peace, at this moment they have no choice…
time is no far when they would strike their final stronghold North and south wazirists..
May Allah help us.
some terms used:
Mushran: tribal elder
PA: Political agent.
Maulvi faqir: deputy of so called taliban pakistan, he survived a cobra raid and belived lost his son in that raid and seriously injured himself.
frontier core: paramilitary force.
mashaAllah good news indeed. And for the most part it's due to the recent developments between Govt and TNSM.
Because TTP head Baitullah Mehsud can no longer find another excuse to woo his foot soldiers, and all other taliban leaders have outright sidelined him and made him look petty by siding with the Govt, he is now left to squirm like a failed spy. The cause has been removed by implementation of or atleast agreement to implement Shariah in Swat.
Next hurdle for Pakistan will be to ensure no border incursions are done, which undermine Pakistani committment.
I would say this is trumpeting the bugle of victory prematurely. Listen to the general and it is a case of whack-a-mole strategy. While this general is succesful in pushing Taliban out of Bajaur in retreat, he is acknowledging that he has not captured or killed their leadership. They can easily regroup, resupply and come back. They have safe havens in North and South Waziristan and in Swat. It cannot be over until their "emirates" in North and South Waziristan and in Swat are eliminated and Pakistan take back the territory it has lost.
Coalition forces must be slapping themselves silly right now … why didn’t they think of this before … after all you have to just push the “pimps and prostitutes” out and you have peace … oh and not to forget the music and “vulgar” CD’s … so Pakistan government is going to be a party to banning music
the topic is " taliban coming to end in Pakistan" ...... it seems they just signed that off in Swat !!!!!!! So now Pakistan government is going to be "enforcing" Taliban ideology !!!!!

whats in swat deal, although i m 100% sure it wont materialize...
whatever is govt doing is right for the time being and is better to have it for now then civilian casualties...
keep it off in swat for time being until they clear their nerve centres in tribal belts then come back on them hard...
why i opened this thread with title taliban coming to an end in pakistan because Bajaur which has been cleared now was their main nerve centre it was from here suiciders were sent, it was home to baitullah mehsud, maulvi faqir bith leader and asst leder respectively and also home to thier spokesman...
having done so they have moved in khyber and mohammand after it is cleared they would either circles swat and malakand or go into waziristan another nerve centre.
by the way if you go through generals assesment he said IED kinds or things would keep going on for time being which means they wont be finished for a while but atleast wont be calling the shots...
so the kids who havent handled a rifle in their life and dont have any idea Asymmetric warfare shouldnt atleast comment on strength of pak army, army wont fight based on your assessment but theirs..
you guys refer to an incident make a mountain out of it....
It makes sense that they would focus on a single area of attack and then expand outward.
I dont think the Swat deal will materialize either, and lets hope it doesnt. But I certainly hope that if they are planning to attack the terrorists there, they will surround them first.
But regardless of what they say, the Swat deal serves a purpose. It calms the people of the valley, who were suddenly in favor of sharia, and it exposes the Terrorists for who they are. If they truly do decide to go after them, they will only have themselves to blame.
And your right, people dont know what they are talking about. Not every situation calls for creating another Kashmir.

The two situations are very different.
Have you ever heard of the game "whack-a-mole"? You hit one and another appears in another place! Its not a very good strategy.
Wouldn't same hold true for taliban also ...... after "settling" Swat expand outwards to rest of Pakistan.
no it wouldnt because swat on the one side is covered with moderately settled area and on other infamous tribal region bordering afghanistan.
it is their main supply route for weapons and manpower, even if they relocate themselves to swat from tribal region then still they would be squeezed in the end from both sides although it would be harder deal as swat has large population.
