For those of you lucky ladies in Pakistan, you can spend lavishly on stunning fresh flower decor. But as for me, spending on a budget in the U.S., I will save hundreds of dollars by avoiding fresh flower centerpieces. I am trying to find non-floral arrangements that will work, but nothing completes the elegant look like a floral centerpiece. What is your opinion on using artificial flower bouquets for the guest tables?
Re: Are silk flowers tacky?
not at all! if you can, use the really tall tower vases with them so no one really notices that they are fake. It'll make a really elegant centerpiece as well!
Re: Are silk flowers tacky?
i agree with Farsiha .... and also remember at the end of the day ...its your wedding and your budget. There are so many other important things to spend money on.... in my opinion. Centerpieces are kidna on the bottom of the list for me.... just because they ARE so expensive here in the US.... I was thinking of using silk flowers as well...
Re: Are silk flowers tacky?
alot of silk flowers look amazing. I went to see my decorator, and she showed me some silk flowers, and also some flowers made of latex. If you can find them, use the latex flowers!! They are a fraction of the cost of real flowers, but they look so REAL!!! and they are really nice to touch as well.
Re: Are silk flowers tacky?
interesting, latex flowers. never heard of them before.
Re: Are silk flowers tacky?
check out this site…they offer good quality silk flowers.
Re: Are silk flowers tacky?
i'd say stick to candles, colored stones, etc instead of silk flowers if you're really tight....or use cheaper or less flowers for centerpieces.
i too was on a budget and was able to convince my florist to make 40 rose centerpieces for $600 (which was a steal...considering a dozen roses costs about $12-15 by themselves!). I provided her with vases and ribbon which i got from the wholesale flower market for less than $2 per centerpiece and had her buy the flowers and fix the arrangements. alh, turned out great!
i did use silk flower petals for my cake table, etc.
Re: Are silk flowers tacky?
^wow $600 for 40 centerpieces worth of roses is an AMAZING deal.. you're so lucky!! i can only dream of ever getting a deal like that.. i'm having to resort to silk flowers instead. iA they'll turn out ok!
