Are people too hung up on looks?

Re: Are people too hung up on looks?

^ you go girl..go fight the good fight. Human psychology is an interesting thing…subliminal affitnities towards looks, intelligence etc. etc.. are to be navigated carefully. Vaisey, you are a teacher right…so it doesn;t matter..your customers are captive anyway. Just make sure little boys don’t get fantasies about their teachers…:nono:

Re: Are people too hung up on looks?

lol, no not at all. Just pointing out the flaws/peculiarities of human nature that seem to follow us no matter what we do...

Re: Are people too hung up on looks?

matsui – Rest assured I have no difficulties with my career. Its about human worth, and trust me they are not captives. They are willing to get an education. And I am willing to teach them. One doesnt need to wear short skirts if one can get away with using ones brain. Fantasies? Thank the Lord they are not like yourself.

UTD – Keep such jokes out of my thread.

mamaof3 – Its a sad truth I must say.

Re: Are people too hung up on looks?

Yea, because the teacher might put out.

Re: Are people too hung up on looks?

MQ, one more note....when I was in the "real world" I was good at what I did and I worked very hard. I was knowledgeable with the technology but I also had an eye on the traders I supported. They're an annoyable lot of people, make tons and tons of money for the bank but are totally unreasonable inflammable people. Short skirts and sweet smiles fix almost more than my ability to fix their tech problems and that made me valuable to the bank I worked for. Intelligence alone isnt enuf....see what I mean?

Re: Are people too hung up on looks?

^ God bless you mama…you know how to deal with these heathens in finance. :flower1:

Re: Are people too hung up on looks?

Mamaof3 -- Smiles I can understand. Short skirts I cant. Rather I can understand it- but I dont agree with it. Using a body - I just see that as degrading. I know its the "real" world , but I also believe it is up to the individual as to how he/she chooses to deal with it.

Somebody kick UTD out of this thread.

Re: Are people too hung up on looks?

at the risk of sounding like rvikz, why do people want to marry pretty people? why do guppies go all “aww ur so pretty” to every ugly mugshot posted in the image gallery? of course looks matter.

also there should be a law to discriminate against fat people. i hate fat people. dammit.

Re: Are people too hung up on looks?

^^:hehe:

Re: Are people too hung up on looks?

Queer- thats just because you're skinny. I mean people could kill you with a feather. :o

ps rvikz eh? I see. Plus I'm sure when it comes to marriage people look at a lot more than just how pretty a person is.

Re: Are people too hung up on looks?

MQ, quit taking everything so personally. i’m not skinny, i’m muscular and built like any other self respecting socal hunk who lives within a mile of muscle beach. :arniegropinatorzindabad:

sure they do look for stuff other than looks, but the very first reason why 99% of people reject potential partners is looks.

Re: Are people too hung up on looks?

I wasnt taking anything personally. You are though. Muscular? lol :p And people have to be attracted to each other if they are going to get married. Im sure though ,they dont care about just the looks.Thats different, Im talking about looks in the work place and why they matter so much.

Now no more random posts. Back to topic. I wonder which career basis the employee on looks the most.

Re: Are people too hung up on looks?

i am, when u said i was skinny. how dumb are you?

Re: Are people too hung up on looks?

rotfl here too! Yes human nature is a mean thang right? You try to make a trade in finance that will net the bank a million bux and the ca-peeder crashes. an ugly tech shows up to fix the ca-peeder and you just haul off and blame the bank's losses on the ugly thang. OR a pretty, happy, bright thang shows up and fixes the ca-peeder, shows sympathy and sadness abt the loss of money that could have been made....

I'm not saying that this is a good thing or a bad thing, just that human nature should not be discounted at all when choosing or persuing a career. If you cant handle this type of thing then you should persue a career that doesnt involve interaction with people.

Re: Are people too hung up on looks?

mamaof3 --- * If you cant handle this type of thing then you should persue a career that doesnt involve interaction with people.*

Very few careers dont involve interaction with people. Almost all of them do. However, like I said before it depends how an individual deals with them. Dont worry Im not forgetting the real world, and how silly the human nature can be at times.

queer - Not very dumb, rather unfortunate for you eh. This thread is not about discussing your body, so snap out of it.

Re: Are people too hung up on looks?

then maybe you shouldnt have brought it up in the first place. now you can kiss my rock hard glutes.

Re: Are people too hung up on looks?

MQ - mostly in marketing / customer service or face to face encounter with the customers. not necessarily good looks but a good personality.

Re: Are people too hung up on looks?

You all should have seen the lady that I hired to do backups, all looks but dumb as a door knob. Unfortunately my South Indian Boss CV, fired her and removed me from the hiring process. Mamaof3 this was before we met, but the girl I am talking about is the one that wanted to go skiing in Utah with me.
Those were the days my friend we used to sing and dance.........

Re: Are people too hung up on looks?
