Are otters and turtles Halal?

I just read on a fatwa website that it’s permissible to eat otters and turtles as long as they are slaughtered Islamicly. That’s news to me.

Is it true?

You posted the fatwa so you find out. To my knowledge turtle is a veggie animal, I don't see any reason why it should be haram.

What is "otter"? did you mean Oyster?

No not oyster.

An otter is one of these…

Are you sure you're not talking about "Otter-Pops" the froze treat? They're not only halal, they're delicious!

If you are talking about otters, I hope you know that they are rodents and closely related to rats. I wouldn't eat them halal, haram or even covered in chocolate...
