No they are not Halal in the UK. I had a doubt once when a friend raised this issue but I didnt believe her and sent Oreo company an email regarding this and they confirmed back that they cannot confirm that its halal .

I’m guessing it’s whey. Whey is byproduct of the cheese making process. So if there can be non-halal cheese, there can be non-halal whey. Hence Oreos made with that whey are non-halal.

PS: Which reminds me I have a 4 year old tub of whey in the refrigerator. Banana flavor . Should’ve gotten chocolate. Don’t know if halal or not, don’t even know if it’s fit for consumption anymore.

He seems to be the only one who is right. Thought Western education is better than the one kids are getting in Pakistan…Sometimes enzymes from a Hog’s stomach are used to make dairy products…Actually it’s not sometimes, but very often the case. LOL When you buy products, make sure to read the ingredients label. If it contains animal glyceride, gelatin, animal fats, emulsifiers, mono and di-glyceride, you may want to contact the company first before you decide to buy their pork stuff.

Actually, I hate chocolate, yet I can eat an entire package of Oreos at a sitting (or half a pkg anyway). So I never eat them. Cuz I love them!

They may not be halal, but they are heavenly! Or do I mean to write, devilishly good?..
