Are Muslims permitted to eat live creatures such as worms or insects as they (people) often do on that show?

I read a hadith that said the Prophet(SAW) said something like, you cannot cut an animals leg off (for example)while it is alive. I'm not sure what example it was eluding to, like if it was concerning when someone wanted to have leg for dinner or what not, but I think you can take that and use it in the example of eating live animals. Because when you do that, its like you are taking off a part of their body while they are living. Or is it?
doesn't fear factor have episodes where you're not eating ghastly stuff, but you're doing dangerous stunts?

anyways.. utd, strictly from a religious perspective muslims may not be able to do quite a few things that go on in fear factor, and i suppose the same could apply to christians and jews. kosher food clause for example for jews.
Now do many ppl not care what the religion has said..sure. and to them it may be a non issue.
I would not go there less from a religious angle but more from the fact that its just tasteless (the whole concept, not the bug you are being asked to eat) and not my cup of tea (or cup of pee in case of fear factor)
Since you focus solely on weird stuff they make one eat in the "Fear Factor", then the answer is simple.
Anyone who follows any kind of dietary laws (jews, muslims, vegans etc) will not go on Fear Factor unless they want to give up their dietary restrictions. These shows are for those who have no scruples eating anything for the chance to get a lot of money.
