Are low budgets and lack of government support a real problem for Lollywood?

These are the most commonly cited grievances from the Lahore based film community. Frankly, I believe given the laughable quality they’re producing for the last 30 or so years, and that too consistently, no sane government should offer them any level of support and neither can they really do with big budgets because they really should NOT be making movies in the first place!!! Yes, I mean the whole lot – the Sangeetas, the Syed Noors, the Masood Butts – they all need to be purged from business of making films. Like the television boom, it should not be too hard to establish a new film making fraternity from scratch.

Re: Are low budgets and lack of government support a real problem for Lollywood?

Oh dear, the doom days of Pakistan in general & lollywood in particular started from the time when it produced 2 successful & fine films on the palestinian-israel subject depicting the israel as the aggressor & palestinains as the oppressed ones.

From that time onwards, it was only going back with lollywood. Total doom.

Presently, Pak economy, the budget & everything in pakistan which requies money to run, depends on IMF / worl bank loans.... lollywood... really?

yeah it was, as always, easy for the exploiters to make good use of pakistani stupidity (let's call it greed when talking of lollywood) to turn the whole lollywood into a gujjar mafia which only allowed making the typical formula bhens-muucharRR-couple-dancing/running-making-love-on-the-wheat / rice fields films.

the awakened societies know fully well how important the entertainment media is of any society and the important part that it plays to convey the truth to a wider audience especially if productions are good in quality. but our entertainment media was turned into food of the gujjar mafia beast & by now almost all that this industry had, has been consumed by this beast.
