I think women need some security, hence they look into income aspect. And its totally fair enough before making the biggest decision of life.

But nowdays some of us work and don't need to marry for security the way our mothers or grandmothers may have had to..
I was working and had bought a home before marriage so I was equal (or perhaps more financially established) than some guys.. I didn't need to marry for financial security so did so for other reasons..

Girls are independent and financial secure, boys will have less pressure on securing job. They can get start married life before financial stability because girls have their own home, girls can support their husbands.

I don’t know when will guys understand the fact that they are the providers & its their responsibility to provide with home & everything to their wives.
My earnings are all mine, he has no right on them & if he thinks he can’t provide for me then he is all welcome to have “khairat”.

What do you call a woman who marries for wealth alone ? Exactly.
Financial stability is crucial, but, not the deciding factor. Everything has to be examined. My line up in terms of priority is:
1) Religious Inclination
2) Ethnicity
3) Background
4) Persona
5) Monetary Firmness

If a woman is independent and knows how to life her life then i believe her priorities are different. She would much rather chose a person who she finds attractive, matches her personality and has his future goals established. It doesn't matter if he rolling in the money right now or not.
However, if the guy is being chosen by the family then all it matters how settled he is and in that case, nothing matters but how much he makes, does he have a car and so on and so forth.

Umm...why is it okay to marry a woman because she's pretty for men then?
Our society and society in general is materialistic. That's how it is. Man marry for looks and women marry for money (not all cases but definitely some).
You want a pretty looking wife even though you sport a beer belly? Show her the money!
Its an equal trade and one is not better than the other.
I do think looks are important though...I need to be attracted to my partner.

I am just against this mind set where people find it disturbing when girls or their parents ask how much a guy makes or what is his income? In your priority list, money is in the last, of course it will be, but for girls its their right to know how much her to be husband earns but for guys its not, they have nothing to do with their wife's earnings. But if from this question all you deduce is " their deciding factor is money" then thats "disturbing".

If financial stability was a minor element, it wouldn't have merited a spot in my list. At the end, the girl has every right to know and monitor the details to arrive at a decision.
