Re: Are kids today more ill-mannered than they were in previous generations?
**HHL- Good post. I understand everything about respecting and obeying parents as such but in our (my) society it doesn’t just end there. If it was just my parents who were telling me to do stuff which I knew they were doing with my best interests at heart then I would totally be fine about that, and I am. Personally for me the bigger problem is when extended family gets involved. In my case that’s like uncles, grandparents etc and although I feel that I do respect them, inside of me I’m fighting this greater jihad. Half of the things that I have to sit through and listen to long lectures from my grandmother for exapmle just really agitate me. Especially when she’s telling me stuff which is not relevent to me. I try so hard to remain calm but I guess I need to work on the patience part

Why can I not just listen to my parents and learn lessons from the Qur’an and Hadiths? I do that already and so I don’t want other people to come and annoy me. I guess I’m coming across as a prime example of a batameez kid
But please try and understand!!!
