Are Higher End brand names really better quality...?

i mean compared to ones like covergirl, maybelline, revlon, loreal, avon…?

urban decay, MAC, kryolan, bobbie brown prices are mega high for just makeup products but do they really deliver above and beyond what the ‘regular’ brands deliver?

Re: Are Higher End brand names really better quality...?

I don't think so, it depends on your own skin and what suits you.
If you can afford it that's fine but higher prices don't always mean better quality.

Re: Are Higher End brand names really better quality...?

well when i look at fashion, the quality of the brand name clothing material does feel wonderful compared to the other types but in terms of makeup and beauty products, i'm not so sure.

i do have one higher end brand name beauty product by bobbie brown, but i wish i got a lot more quantity for the price i paid for it.

plus on the 2010 best beauty products awards list by a pretty well known magazine, avon products and a lot of the middle end brands were also on the list along with the higher end brands.

Re: Are Higher End brand names really better quality...?

In my opinion high end brands deliver better results than ordinary branded makeup. People were raving about the sleek eye pallettes so I ordered a few. Unfortunately they are nowhere near Urban Decay.

Re: Are Higher End brand names really better quality…?

For some things I do think high-end brands are better.. like skincare products. I’ve tried LOTS of drugstore brand foundations and powders and haven’t liked any and always end-up going back to Bobboi Brown. But for eye-shadows I’ve bought a brand called ‘art deco’ and it’s as good as MAC or Chanel :hula:

Re: Are Higher End brand names really better quality...?

i personally like high end brands for make up, such as mac, make up for ever, bobbi brown.. i just like to have nicely pigmented products that won't go bad so early, and i also always look at the ingredients to check any comedogenic or irritant ingredients, and sometimes high end brands contain them too so i keep that in mind (a lot of products contain alcohol as their main ingredient and that's a huge no no)
i think bourjois make some very nice products, and i love rimmel nail stuff, revlon have great lispsticks.

as far as skincare goes, pharmacy brands are the best (preferably french brands, la roche posay, avene, etc)

some of them are. some of them aren't.
