the occult and devil worhsippers aside, i suppose all religions basically want people to live a civilized and decent life.

all religions show u the way to God.. only the terminology and approach differs.

Applications are the same, the formulas used are different. But there are differences, while all religions talk about good, fairness, alms etc (basically good things), how you say your prayers and beliefs are very different.

Example: Diving a Merc or a Hummer are basically same but you cant take a merc off road (not even that panzy ML3x).

When you dveleve into religious studies the differences are there all-right.

Post any more links on Universalism. There are many Universalist churches in US, but I think they cater to only Christian denominations.

the message of morality, civility, being a wholesome human, etc. is probably pretty similar.

however, there is an enormous difference between the eastern and western religions when it comes to their respective philosophies on life (and just about everything else).

nicols_john...the major relgions, such as Christainty,Judism(sp?), Islam,etc. were all the same when each of their books came out to the prophets....but over the times ppl didn't like wat it said in them, and changed it to the way wanted it...until the Qur'an, it hasn't been changed ever....so the stuff they kept in their other books is probably similiar....but i won't say they r the same...big differences!!!!!

No all religions are not same at all. They differ in aspects, approach as well as in thinking.

'there is no God other than Allah.' Islam is a complete rejection to any other religion. Catholics find a devil figure in Lord Krishna. Jews send all non Jews to hell, and so Muslims to all non-Muslims.

I think all Abrahamic religions send Hindus to hell.

It must be a tough task for God when thousands die in few moments (like Tsunami) to segregate all Hindus to be send to hell, then Muslims to Jannat and Christians to Heaven.
