Anyone been up there? I saw a presentation today on it in one of our classes - the place seems absolutely amazing - so colorful during the summer time, and an ice palace during the winter time.
Presentation was about recent intentions by the US government to start drilling for oil out there. I can be such a sucker when it comes to presentations like this.
Anyone ever been out there before? Anyone opposed to the drilling?
I am not opposed to drilling in anyplace, even if it means drilling someone’s head to get oil. I watched Frontline last night and boy…I would rather drill oil anywhere but in that camel land…
I saw how the entire region (mideast) is in such a hell because of such vast oil resources. If they didn’t have that, there will be peace in that region. So, yes, i have no problem drilling oil in the arctic and piping it to the US via Canada.
Aeons ago I read an article in the National Geographic about a man who hiked the Arctic circle . He painted vivid pictures of the panormaic views, vistas, hills and the wild life there. I was touched.
As regards the oil, there isn't enough oil to fulfill the needs of the US consumers there. Arctic is pristine, I don't see a point.
And, all you SUV drivers should be hung by your tuttay!
This is another fine example of liberals spreading their propganda to further their cause. PCG, if we drilled in that God for saken big mass of ice (mostly), it will be a small portion where there will be a rig and the rest will be a huge long pipe (calm down Madhanee, I know you are salvating reading this...its oil pipeline). It will not kill the wild life, contrary to the lies spread my bleeding heart liberal, Sierra, PETA and other animal loving twit brains.
LI, you wanna come try that. I will make sure that I run over you with both my Silverado and Suburban. Mind you my comfortable ride will not be disturbed.
