Archos' [duo of G9 tablets](http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/23/archos-intros-80-gb-and-101-g9-android-3-1-tablets-1-5ghz-cpu/) have [been on the market](http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/11/archos-101-g9-tablet-goes-on-sale-8gb-version-now-370/) for a few months now, but the French manufacturer has already made plans for the slates' next major update, announcing today that the devices will receive an update to Android 4.0 by the "first trimester" of 2012. [Archos](http://www.engadget.com/tag/Archos/) didn't offer anything more specific than that, but it's certainly an encouraging sign for those looking to take a bite of Ice Cream Sandwich [on a budget](http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/18/archos-g9-tablets-priced-300-and-up-ship-in-september/). Read the full press release at the source link below, but be warned that it's in French.
