The last pic Bridge of sighs(i just love the name) is one of the most famous bridges in venice. It connects the interrogation rooms of the Doge’s palace to the state prison across the canal and was originally built to transport prisoners to their cells after their trial and conviction. The name Bridge Of Sighs was invented in 18th century by Lord Byron suggesting that the condemned prisoner would sigh over their last view of venice while heading towards their cells. sigh

I love these two pictures. The bridge does looks like a brighe of sighs. The carving on the bridge is simply beautiful. :cheegum:
