do you know any books about the caste system in pakistan / india?
I found only one book on internet

Tareekh-e-Arain Urdu
there is a second book with this name, but I can’t find it
Tarikh-e-Araian (History Of Arains). Lahore, 1940’s publish by Ilmi Book
is there any online shop where I can buy it or an ebook?

what is Arain caste and what caste are Syeds?
Thanks for info guys. Rishta making for a friend ke khatir. She doesn’t believe in castes and all but looking at potentials who might be.

Arain are locls probably Rajputs.
Syed claim ancestry from the Prophet (SAW) i.e. they claim to be Arabs whose forefathers migrated to sub-continent alongwith Arab /central Asian invaders

fazool behas hay, hamaray haan har koi apni cast ko historitcally ruler/ warrior/ arab descendant etc btata hay.
aaj kal china kay sayed bohot hain market main. over all india pakistan main Quraishi aur Sayed shaid poori arab world say bhi zyada hongay.
but if you are really interested in knowing who you/arain are and which part of the world they historically belonged to, why not participate in The Genographic Project, spend about $200 and find out where your ancestors came from.

DNA cannot be forged. check the link I posted above. it links you to your ancestors thousands of years ago, and also contributes your DNA in a global family tree

I don’t have spare $200 yet : p but its pretty well known project, running for years and has huge database worldwide. Its good research.
