Arafats H.Q again....

"Israeli troops have worked throughout the day to physically isolate the Palestinian leader, Yasser Arafat at his compound in the West Bank, demolishing several buildings. "

**so what is the next step..and where is the U.N..hello?????**

The situation has deteriorated very fast…

it sure has..

:nook:

The fast deteriorating situation can been seen as the choice of the IDF to do their "work" with near impunity. The responsibility of restraint is theirs alone, in large measure.

Who gives a damn really?
We all sit here and complain curse the US and Israel and get on with our lives.
You can supress and oppress people to an extent when they will march up and over throw you.
History is an example.
1. French Revolution
2. Colonial History
3. Soviet Union

The same is here.
The intifada is the start.
Honestly i hope there is retribution in israel blood for this.
Lives are lost everywhere, the innocent die, that is a fact of life.
However another fact is that the more the innocent die the hard it is for the govt to continue its existing policies.
If Palestinians die then i see nothing wrong with Israeli deaths.
To hell with objectivity when people cant follow basic moral values.

The Israelis can do so becuase the Islamic leaders dont do jack.
I frankly think Islamic Jihad, Hamas and Hizbollah are thinking about things the right way.

That explains why they have been so effective in establishing a Palestinian state.

Pakistan Condemns Israeli Attack On Arafat’s Headquarters

ISLAMABAD, Sept. 22 (Xinhuanet) – **Pakistan strongly condemned Israel’s attack on the Ramallah headquarters of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat. **

The latest Israeli assault, the third since March and the decision to isolate Arafat completely, constitutes a blatant violation of all norms of international law and further aggravatesthe tense situation in the region, said a statement released from the Foreign Office Saturday.

The statement said that Israel’s aggression against the Palestinian Authority’s administrative infrastructure and its siege of President Arafat’s headquarters clearly jeopardizes the efforts of the international community for the resumption of peace negotiations.

The Government of Pakistan demands an end to the siege of President Arafat’s headquarters, the statement said.

The international community must compel Israel to immediately halt its aggression against the Palestinian people and their lawful government and to fully implement the relevant UN Security Council Resolutions.

Thank God for that^^^^...yeh zameer kaise jaaga kissi ka?? Nice, though.

Todays headlines are(09-12-2002) that Israel would love to give Arafat a ride anywhere in the world...ie exile...they are inching and breaking the building bit by bit, arresting, bulldozing, and the elec/water has been "accidently" cut off...all i want to know is this: it is justified for some and it hurts some whatever happens on both sides..Can someone tell me how conviniently the U.N becomes invisible. The world would ATLEAST expect an acknowledgement on its part of what is happening..or is it happening??Is it then a figment of our imagination...like Bosnia was....fading into the realms of a thick fog called History.....

When you steal land, eject the people who live there and then brutually kill them, of course there will be no peace. From what i have seen in the past 2 years, i no longer feel any remorse of the death of an Israeli. They die, they deserve it for the crimes of their govt and military. InshAllah Israel will be one of those 1 hit wonders you here so much about in the music industry. Here today gone tomorrow.

And what is this going to achieve??

Arafat is crippled old man (*figuratively speaking). He won't be able to do much to control the Palestinian resistances.

The fact that Israelis sees him as a pawn in this scenarios shows how misinformed they are of the real situation.

Once it was impossible to imagine that. But now it is much closer that what everyone thinks.

Nine Palestinians killed in Gaza raid **

Tuesday, September 24, 2002. Posted: 12:55:39 (AEDT)

Nine Palestinians are reported to have been killed by Israeli fire during a military raid into the Gaza strip.

Among the dead is an activist in the radical Hamas movement, who was killed when army tanks and helicopters opened fire in northern Gaza.

A militant of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, an armed offshoot of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat’s mainstream Fatah movement, was also among the dead.

Witnesses say there were two explosions during the raid as Israeli forces blew up local houses.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon vowed to hit Islamic extremist organisations based in Gaza.

It's amazing how many times Arafat's HQ can be destroyed. Each time there is another outbreak of violence, this same HQ gets destroyed by Israeli tanks. Why don't they just do it properly the first time then they wouldn't need to keep going back again and again?

FINALLY!!!

But…there is a lot between the cup and the lip as we very well know …Israel says it will continue and even intensify its military incursions esp. around the gaza territory..tsk..tsk…poor U.N…having to go through so much trouble and not knowing that a bully will be a bully will be a bully…and Palestine and Israel have reached a point where something far far greater in terms of World Power and World Opinion will take to bring the boil to a simmer again…for it to cool down would be nothing less than a miracle…

Great thinking!!:hehe:

UN Demands Israel to Lift Arafat’s Siege

UNITED NATIONS: The UN Security Council on Friday issued a bland appeal to respect a UN resolution after the United States blocked a push to single out Israel for ignoring a council directive to end its siege of Yasser Arafat, council diplomats said.

Syrian Ambassador Mikhail Wehbe, acting at the request of Arab nations, had called on the council during a closed-door session to summon Israel’s UN envoy and tell him to respect the council’s wishes, the diplomats said.

Instead the council issued a statement calling for “the full implementation” of a resolution it passed on Tuesday, demanding that Israel end its siege of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat’s compound in the West Bank city of Ramallah. Friday’s 11-word statement made no mention of Israel or the Palestinians.

Approved 14-0 with the United States abstaining, Tuesday’s resolution had also called on the Palestinian Authority to ensure that those responsible for terrorist acts were brought to justice.

Israel has since maintained the siege, saying it was not obliged to comply with the council’s demand unless the Palestinian leadership fulfilled its requirement to ensure that militants behind suicide attacks on Israelis were brought to justice.

Mirroring Tuesday’s vote, 14 of the council’s 15 members backed the plan put forward by Syria on Friday to summon Israeli Ambassador Yehuda Lancry. But US envoy Richard Williamson insisted that if Israel’s ambassador was to be summoned, the council should also summon Palestinian UN Observer Nasser al-Kidwa, the diplomats said.

After an hour of debate aimed at changing Washington’s mind, the council dropped the idea of summoning ambassadors and decided to issue the brief statement. Palestinians have staged a nightly march on Arafat’s headquarters since the Israeli military imposed the siege on his headquarters eight days ago, after suicide bombings killed seven people in Israel.

The siege and an Israeli missile strike on a Hamas militant in Gaza City have sent tensions soaring at a time the United States wants to keep a lid on the Middle East conflict as it lobbies for international backing for a “regime change” in Iraq. Thousands of protesters, some clad in suicide bomber costumes, marched in the West Bank, Gaza and across the Arab world on Friday, marking the second anniversary of a Palestinian uprising against Israeli occupation in which at least 1,570 Palestinians and 601 Israelis have died.

Washington has accused Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein of ignoring UN resolutions demanding that he destroy his weapons of mass destruction under the eyes of UN weapons inspectors. The US administration wants the council to authorize tough action if Saddam does not change course. That move has prompted numerous Arab diplomats in recent days to accuse the United Nations of a double standard by holding Iraq to UN resolutions but not Israel. :mad2:
