I agree with AQ and ATA bhai.. Arabs are only 15% of Muslim world, even if they were majority, I would still not follow them. I will only follow what is in the Quran and Hadiths.
Excellent example ATA pointed out about zabiha meat, most Arabs sadly eat non-zabiha meat, giving the argument of "people of booK" when they very well know the slaughtering procedures these corporations go through. When people are eating haram, no wonder the halaat that falls upon them.
Eid moon should be sighted locally, if your masjid is not following local sighting then scholarly opinion is to follow your mosque anyway. That's the end deal.
