In the wonderful and peaceful land of Arabs, it is pretty common to call “a person” as simply “Ya Mohammad ta’al hina” (Oh Bhai, please come over here). Off course a shalwar Kameez wearing Pakistani will be called “ya Rafik” or “ya Miskeen”.
Coming back to our topic, the term “Ya Mohammad” in casual lingo never means “Mohammad the Messenger pbuh”.
This is quite different from the way we in Pakistan avoid calling someone Mohammad even when the guy’s first name is Mohammad like in Mohammad Ehsan. We would rather call him by his second (or last name) and skirt around the issue of calling someone Mohammad.
The same Arabs (and their slaves in Pakistan) however reacted so violently (and cartoonishly) against the cartoons. You know why?
Because somebody had just made it clear to these Arabs that terrorism is bringing bad name to an ordinary Arab the one to be called as “ya Mohammad”.
So what do these Arabs do? They now insist that “ya Mohammad” means real “Messenger pbuh”. Strange very strange.
p.s. On another news, what’s wrong with Iranian dude in America? Why the heck he had to ram his car into a crowd. Is this how “Ya Mohammad” muslims will avenge the deaths of their brethren? Strange very strange.
So we kill Shias in Pakistan, and this Iranian dude plows his car into innocent people. Then we have all the rights to protest. Shameful, utter shameful.
