Arabification of Pakistan and Pakistani culture:

Re: Arabification of Pakistan and Pakistani culture:

Adopting Western Culture has become a norm and necessity all the world. Every institution and trade is globalised, living in the stone ages won’t get you too far these days. It’s why it’s happened all over the world. Besides, there has always been British influence in Pakistan and this continues into the present day in a big way (Aspects of the constitution, Common law as big examples).

In actual fact we would do well by adopting a lot more Western values (honesty, fair rights and treatment for everyone, accountability).

People blame music, films, dating on Western culture. However people have always had affairs, always cheated, raped, murdered. We’ve always had music, vulgar films, mujras. Following Western culture hasn’t brought even 10% of the problems we see in the country today. We have our Arab friends to thank for those, by funding extremist madrassas, training and sending over mad mullahs who spout and spread nothing but hatred against others. This pathetic way of thinking has become deeply ingrained in Pakistani society and is only getting worse.

Tell me then, why exactly are people trying to become more Arab? Like I said before, there isn’t a religious requirement. So why are we doing it? Why does even mentioning Saudi Arabia/Arabs in even a slightly negative light evoke such a negative reaction from people?
