I don’t have any favourites in particular…whatever comes my way…i luv basically.
Btw, remixed arabic music is REALLY good!!! The originals are good…but for clubs…arabic remixes are the best..
I always believed and still do that arab singers sound like "bakras"!!
BUT i really like khalid and am wondering these days why indian singers like anaida and amar are after arabic music now a days... I think they like it too...hmmmm!!!
Righto, Arabic music just has a unique element of soul in it, somewhat like desi music but in a different way.
kohal, that open-handed clapping was really something eh. There was this huge ground (maidaan) near muh home and open-air arabic weddings would be held there very often. We used to join in the song n sundry sometimes too, just clapping and singing the ‘halwa, halwa’ bit without knowing the rest of the words.
Yeah, those really sound like some sorta good memories Elmo.
Miss the “ritual” of tying a scarf by the hip & then clapping to the “Habibi Habibi” & then their was the nostalgic yelling where they put their hand infront their mouth & go shreik out: "LuLuLuLuWWWWeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"…hehehe..or something liek that anyways.

Just like how i’m crazy about some of the Indian dance music…i’m just as much of a fan with the Arabic ways..
It’s an awesome culture that can’t be replaced.
not really arabic, but with the sounds of arab. she really is from Israel. but if u hear her, its great yaar. a tender touch of fade feelings.

Try Cheb i Sabah, who is a musical mastermind, mixes arabic and desi melodies and beats with western trance and tech stuff...amazing guy.
for you guys in northern Cali, he is a regular fixture at the club scene there.
Sting and Cheb were on the Tonight show With Jay Leno, and they sounded preety good singing live.
