**عهد خالد بن الوليد إلى أهل دمشق (أيلول 636) **
**Prince Khalid bin Al-Walid to the people of Damascus (September 636) **
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
**In the name of God the Merciful **
هذا ما أعطى خالد بن الوليد أهل دمشق إذا دخلها، أعطاهم أماناً على أنفسهم وأموالهم وكنائسهم وسور مدينتهم، لا يهدم ولا يسكن شيء من دورهم. لهم بذلك عهد الله وذمة رسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم والخلفاء والمؤمنين، لا يُعرض لهم إلا بخير إذا أعطوا الجزية.
**This gave Khalid bin Waleed by residence/people of Damascus if he enter, gave them ‘Amanat’ as themselves, their money, their churches and the wall of their city. Nothing will be destroyed neither something/someone will be harmed who live in their homes. If they gave ‘Jaziya’ (like to give somthing in return of something) as they promised to Allah and His Messenger 
, caliphs and the believers. **
رسالة أبي عبيدة بن الجراح إلى الخليفة عمر بن الخطاب بعد فتح حمص وسائر الشام (حزيران 636)
**Message/Letter from Abu Abeida to Caliph Omar ibn al-Khattab after conquring the forts (hams) & others areas of Sham (June 636) **

**In the name of God the Merciful **
لعبد الله أمير المؤمنين من أبي عبيدة بن الجراح. سلام عليك. فإني أحمد إليك الله الذي لا إله إلا هو. أما بعد،
**For Abdullah, the Amir Al Momineen, From Abu Abuaida Al Jarah. Peace to you I witness that Allah SWT is only one after that, **
فالحمد لله الذي أفاء علينا وعليك، يا أمير المؤمنين، أفضل كورة في الشام أهلاً وقلاعاً، وأكثرهم عدداً وجمعاً وخراجاً، وأكبتهم للمشركين كبتاً، وأيسرهم للمسلمين فتحاً.
**Praise be to Allah who has bestowed on us and you, O Amir Al Momineen, the best in the land of Sham Welcome citadels, with the most number and collection and abscess, and by riot suppression of the heathens, and Oiserhm Muslim conquest. **
أخبرك يا أمير المؤمنين أصلحك الله أننا قدمنا بلاد حمص وبها من المشركين عدد كثير، والمسلمون يزفونهم ببأس شديد. فلما دخلنا بلادهم ألقى الله الرعب في قلوبهم ووهن كيدهم وقلم أظفارهم، وسألوا الصلح وأذعنوا بأداء الجزية. فقبلنا منهم وكففنا عنهم، وفتحوا لنا الحصون واكتتبوا منا الأمان. وقد وجهنا الخيول إلى الناحية التي فيها ملكهم وجنوده. فنسأل الله ملك الملوك وناصر الجنود أن يعز المسلمين بنصره، وأن يسلم المشرك الخاطئ بذنبه. والسلام عليك.
This is to inform you that, O Amir Al Momineen! by granc of Allah! we have given the country Homs (Homas is a name) and the number of many of the idolaters (non-muslim), and for the Muslims they replied to them very bravely, when we entered the in their land. Allah SWT halted fears in their hearts and they were terrified that much they were cutting their own nails, and asked for ‘Sulah’ (Peace with us) and in return they paid/given us ‘Jazia’ and we had accepted the Jazia. They opned the gates of forts seeked our peace/security. We have directed our horses to the area in which the king and his soldiers. We ask Allah Almighty and Sucess Granter on our soliders give strenght/sucesses to Muslims on their achivements/glory and delivers the wrong mushrik guilty. And peace to you.
