i wanted to know what you guys think of this idea…it my cuzin wedding…and for the dholak night we might av an arabian theme…with lots of cushion…n low tables to the ground with cushion around them for when everyone eats…now i was thinkin of going wiv gold and pink for the colours…but am not quit sure…ppl plzzzz help…n if you have any beta ideas plz do share…
n finally plzzz can u post piks of some arabian night themes…

heyyy thx for that......this duznt seem like a uk company......i was wundering something more local wud b beta.....
we did that for my friend's dholki and made posters of arabic styled henna designs for guests to take pictures by. mendhi artist came in to do everyone's hands. it was a nice theme, and we played arabic bellydancing instrumental music while all the girls arrived and just chatted it up. our color scheme was dark purple, gold, and dark green it worked out i think well. the cupcakes were of the scheme, the plate, and i found printed arabic looking napkins so that was nice. we had a tent in the backyard set up with chairs and tables for more guests, hookahs and xmas lights it worked out well. oh and we had a tarp on the floor once the mendhi got started and each guest got to take home a mendhi cone and a simple necklace set as a gift.

i helped organise my friends mendhi who also had an arabian theme…i remember she couldnt find anyone to do it where we live so she used abdalis in bradford.
they did low seating and drapings plus old arab style lanterns/hookas and stuff, she based it around these:
heres the link…look in the marquee section (they can do the same stuff indoors too).
that's a beautiful set up, however the only issue with low seating is all the elders, it would be very difficult for them to get up and sit down through that. also what about the girls in saris, or mermaid lenghas or fishtail lenghas? sitting on the floor and low seating isn't ideal that's why i wouldn't do it for a mendhi but if you did low seating for a dholki it's workable bc you could easily push the furniture in the home to the walls and elders can sit on couches and dining chairs. no one really wears saris, mermaids or fishtails to those either you kknow?
so i would be wary of low seating for that reason. but it looked great.

i saw a very beautiful mehndhi setup arabian style i mean it was all out. peopel sat down by kind of folding there legs over it didnt look uncomfy but i suggest having different types of seating options avialable some on the floor some at tables some on chairs
