You can only say things if you have experience and evidence yet you are very quick to condemn others on hearsay … I grew up Deobandi and still identify with them as there is no need to leave them. Ahl-us-Sunnah-Wal-Jammat is a common title used by Deobandis and more often I hear the Barelvis just say Ahl-e-Sunnat for themselves.
In the UK regularly attended both masajid - Deobandi and Barelvi
It is a vulgar practice to oust people from Sunni Islam without knowing what it means to be in Sunni Islam. The basic criteria to be in Sunni Islam is to recognise the 4 caliphs to be legitimate, to recognise the authenticity of the 6 books of hadith … Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Tirmizdi, Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, Muwatta and most importantly to accept one of the 3 aqidahs of Ahl-us-Sunnah Wal-Jamma’ … which is Maturidi, 'Ashari or Azhari.
The Tablighi Jamaat are led by Deobandis in the subcontinent … and most people who join their activities are Deobandi, but they attract other Muslims too in their activities and they do not try to convert them to Deobandism - they merely try to maintain their appeal on their contribution for khuruj activities. Khuruj is not Deobandi it is Tablighi … it is not a belief and fiqh system, it is a social practice their main intention is to get people to stay with them for 3 days or 40 days, travel to different locations to spread awareness of the importance of simple things like prayer in jamat and good companionship … they have their own books, but are not strictly Deobandis, merely Deobandis accept them … as many of them are based in the middle east where there are simply Arab Hanafis who like to join their activities.
Your view of convoluted malpractices of both Deobandis and Tablighis is tainted by your very strict position that you hold in your maslak … but I appeal to your intellect and sense of justice that you should only say things that you have evidence for, and that does not mean repeating the rhetoric of accusation - but to make personal investigations and get the information directly from the people who you are talking about.

but a couple of points It is vulgar practice to include non sunnis as sunnis, our definitions of Ahle Sunnat might be different. You are probably using something encompassing, inclusive. That is correct and incorrect as the definitions can be applied loosely or more accurately. I do regard deobandis as non Ahle sunnah wal Jamaah, this i feel is fair to all. You can say they are ahle sunnah deoband, like they named themselves. A specific form of sunnah

But no way do i take anything back i have said in this thread. Its either something i do have evidence for, some of it from deobandis themselves, or its a calculated impression.
What is it exactly that you feel i have been wrong on?
