Noticed this thread randomly. It is almost WHOLELY Punjabis and to an extend Mohajirs (much lesser extent) that say so. You will NEVER EVER see a Pakhtun claim this. Even most Pakhtuns claim that they are connected to the tribe of a Sahabi who was Pashtun himself and met the Prophet. Qais Abdul Rashid but rarely ever acknowledge or are proud of it.
Pakistani Punjabis are funny and confused people. On one hand they can sit and talk about food and classical music with their Hindu counterparts and will find a way to connect ‘RAW’ to the drone strikes in Pakhtunwa…rozana marta he America…aur boothi banakar rohta he India. My theory is that Pakistan is only so many years old and they have to justify their existence somehow against civilizations with names that have existed for thousands of years. Howso? Choose an identity that is antithetically anti-Hindu and closer to’Arabs/Persians’

Why is that? Pakhto is a beuatiful language. Punjabi poets? When was the last time you heard of that or had one in one or your assemblies?
Please stop imitating others Pakistani Punjabis. eidted. The absolute worst, absolute worst are UK/Euro Pakistanis. Wear niqab and speak ‘akhi ukhti’. I know Pakistanis who have lived in Saudi Arabia for 25 years and can’t so much as own land ya arab larki se shaadi karna…but Arab larka shaadi Pakistani larki se kar sakta he…
That’s a huge difference I would say between American and UK Pakistanis. American Pakistanis dont nearly have the numbers or great indigineous population awareness of their numbers. But there 'Muslim first" identity, and learning and supporting Urdu the arts at higher levels in education, in government, at local embassies, for national defense…South Asian being the richest minority in the US…they know how to place themselves and what is important in life (education, wealth, family, values)…not holding onto this notion of ‘becoming’ Arab (laughable since Arabs basically own grocery stores and liquor shops here) or one day moving back to a land that isn’t yours.
