We are invited to my husbands cousins baby girls aqiqa next weekend. Honestly, I dont even remember when I attended an Aqiqa last and what would be a suitable gift? In my family the immediate elders all give gold, and then silver/cash/crib/walker and basically big bulky/important items…but my hubbys family is not very big on gifts…even if we just give cash, what is a suitable amount?
Theyre in the states…
We were thinking of swarovski ear studs or a pendant with her initial but hubby is like ‘kids shouldnt wear nickle…if i had a baby girl i wont make her wear nickle’…bhayee..abhi thori pehneygi barey hokey pehneygi..right? So please some ideas!
$50-$100 should suffice. cash in an envelope with a nice card, or a gift card from any baby store would be good- just make sure it can be used in the US too.
Baby clothes…the amount depends on your budget and your closeness and relationship with that cousin. I have seen ppl give something for $10 to whatever. The sky is the limit. For baby girls I like to give nice clothes. You can find nice stuff in any dept stores.
Actually, not really..:s They probably gave salami at the wedding but my mum in law kept all the salami saying ‘humarey yahan the parents keep it’ Although my parents gave us all that was handed over to them…anyway besides the point haha but no, we havent got anything from them yet…
