April Fool

Whats the history behind April Fool?

I heard that it started when British Army conquered Delhi, General Hudson send heads of Bahadur Shah’s sons to him in a covered Tasht. But when I searched for that I found that Delhi was not conquered in April. Rebellion was started on May 11, 1857 and Delhi was conquered by British troops by September 20, 1857. Bahadur Shah’s sons were shoot on September 21, 1857.

Re: April Fool

Ok let me find 1492 Spain and Ferdinand & Isabella’s cruelty to Muslims.

Okay, here I found it:

For those who can’t read Urdu: It says that after conquering Spain in 1492, Ferdinand asked Muslims of Spain that they have been given a separate state and the Govt has arranged for a ship to take then there. On their way in between sea, the Christian troops get drowned the ship and run away through life boats.

But as far as I know, Ferdinand has occupied major cities / states of Muslims including Corodaba before conquering the Gharnata. Neither he was afraid of acting against Muslims through infamous inquisition, nor Muslims were that naive to accept a separate state after what they observed and heard about the tussles between Muslims and Christian. There must have been some incidents like that, but I doubt that this is story behind April Fool.
