I don't know about you guys but Jaya's batting reminds me of Younis Khan when he's playing at the top of his game
yaar kiss ko yaad dila kar iss wonderful innings ka taste khraab kar rahey ho
leave him playing county's best to show off what a **** he is
Re: April 24, 1st Semi Final - New Zealand v Sri Lanka at Sabina Park, Jamaica
i agree with you the 3rd umpire can also notify on field umpire when he has made decisions that is painfully wrong also** i thought they were going to implement the rule where team can refer (3 times) decision upstairs in champions trophy, never heard about it since**
seems like a nice idea but will the ICC implement it? We have had no word on it from them lately

Yaar,
Jaya is in a totally different league and a worthy captain who has earned his respect unlike Yunus Khan who either demands complete obedience or refuses to play.
Re: April 24, 1st Semi Final - New Zealand v Sri Lanka at Sabina Park, Jamaica
Lanka will win the privelige of losing to the Aussies.
Re: April 24, 1st Semi Final - New Zealand v Sri Lanka at Sabina Park, Jamaica

our team is not even have a shadow of the spirit that SL has shown in this cup. Weren’t we champions once? Aren’t our players really talented…

Ok I wrest my case since there are hardly any Younis fans on this forum or so it seems. Some people might not like him as a person but there's no denying the fact that he's a class act. I have lost count of the no. of times Barry Richards mentioned the word class when Younis was batting during the recent series in SA.
Their one-day averages are very simlar too (Younis 31.15, Jayawardene 33.07)
Ofcourse Jaya is in the form of his life since the English series in 2006
Re: April 24, 1st Semi Final - New Zealand v Sri Lanka at Sabina Park, Jamaica
^ Who says there are no Younis fans.
Its the other stuff that most of us have been upset about.

Agreed but may I reluctantly (I am a huge Imran fan as you know) admit that Younis is not even half the dictator Imran Khan was. Imran twice resigned from captaincy because the selectors did not give him the team he wanted. Ofcourse Imran subsequently justified all his tantrums by producing results for Pakistan. Younis unfortunately has n't had the chance to prove himself (admittedly thru some fault of his own) hence will always be stigmatised :D
Re: April 24, 1st Semi Final - New Zealand v Sri Lanka at Sabina Park, Jamaica
^ That is true. Imran had another advantage and that was his all round performance. Later on Majid Khan's addition to the heirarchy helped Imran as well.

Many including myself have always supported Yunus Khan even when he lost his form, but this recent episode of declining captaincy was the last straw that broke the camels back. Like Imran Khan rightly said, if he knew senior players were not going to support him then he sud have not accepted vice captaincy.
Yunus Khan has made a reputation of an unbalanced person, emotional and immature to the extent of not knowing his potential.

Besides agreeing with counterpoint's point above, I would just add that please dont base your argument with anything Barry Richards say =). I really like Younis Khan and his dedication and passion when he is on the field. I can also understand how hurt was he with the reception after going through such double tragedy and got disillusioned with the captaincy but he still shouldnt have done what he did eventually.
Re: April 24, 1st Semi Final - New Zealand v Sri Lanka at Sabina Park, Jamaica

Re: April 24, 1st Semi Final - New Zealand v Sri Lanka at Sabina Park, Jamaica
Lankans have the measure of Fleming so overwhelmingly.
Re: April 24, 1st Semi Final - New Zealand v Sri Lanka at Sabina Park, Jamaica
Having bad times...NZ 3/1 off 3.0 overs...
Re: April 24, 1st Semi Final - New Zealand v Sri Lanka at Sabina Park, Jamaica
^^ its all over
wow. Whatelse your crystal ball tells you after just two overs?
Re: April 24, 1st Semi Final - New Zealand v Sri Lanka at Sabina Park, Jamaica
Although NZ's start is very similar to SLs who also lost Jayasuriya on 1 from 11 balls, the difference is that NZ have lost their captain and main batsman. Now its completely upto the rest of his team to pull out something great from their pockets. Oram, Styris, Fulton need to deliver.
Go Sri Lanka!
