Australia 270/5 (50 ov)
West Indies 114/2 (23.2 ov)
West Indies require another 157 runs with 8 wickets and 26.4 overs remaining
DS Smith 21 not out, BC Lara 17 not out.
*Rain stopped play *
Australia wins by 3 runs.
Revised total for WI was 208 from 37 overs. They made 205/8.
Good effort by WI and Sarwan but was not enough.
Congrats to Aussies. :k:
I though the performance from Ian Harvey was very valuable and he should have been awarded the man of the match.
Awesome stuff by the Aussies :k: Yet another great knock by Ricky Ponting..:k:

1st ODI - Australia won

Aussies celebrates as Havery took Lara's wicket.
Has Mr. Lara learned from the mistakes he made in the Test Series? The answer is NO!
Why O why after winning the toss you let Aussies to bat first? Whenever Aussies have batted first in ODIs, their score is always 250-300+ runs. Even if Aussies loses couple of wickets in the early session, they always seems to back come in the end as they got strong middle-order batsmen. Start of the Aussies inning wasn't good as Hayden went off cheaply. Gilchrist was ordinary but four boundaries by him were lovely.

Ricky Ponting hits a ball
Ponting and Lehmann played sensible Cricket, were able to scored half-century. In the end, Bevan and Havery duo worked out pretty good. Harvery had a superb day with both bat and ball.
[thumb=B]mcgrath.JPG[/thumb]
Carlton Baugh bowled by Glenn McGrath. Don't you just love the sight! :)
[thumb=B]symonds.JPG[/thumb]
Omari Banks run out by Andrew Symonds of Australia, left, looks on :~)
[thumb=B]sarwan.JPG[/thumb]
Ramnaresh Sarwan looks on
Caribbean Boys' inning kicked off sky-high. 75 runs parternership by Gayle and Powell was good enough, but, Lara wasn't in his form; and rest of the West Indies players didn't step up, though, good effort by Sarwan kept the match swinging until the last ball of the match.
Rain delayed shouldn't be an excuse. After all, West Indies are home-side, and should know better about the local wheather than Aussies. Also, Aussies gave 5 extra runs compare to West Indies *19. *

2nd ODI:
WI 103/6 off 30.5 overs.
Lehmann and Harvey out as Windies bat first](http://uk.cricinfo.com/link_to_database/ARCHIVE/CRICKET_NEWS/2003/MAY/183231_AUSINWI_18MAY2003.html)
Brian Lara won the toss and chose to bat in the second ODI at Sabina Park, opting to set a target following West Indies’s narrow failure to chase a Duckworth-Lewis total yesterday. The pitch is the same one used for the first match, but this time the weather looks as if it will hold for the duration.
West Indies named the same XI, but Australia had two changes forced on them. Ian Harvey pulled out with an abdominal muscle strain and Darren Lehmann with a thigh strain - they were replaced by Jason Gillespie and Jimmy Maher.
West Indies 1. Chris Gayle, 2. Devon Smith, 3. Brian Lara (capt), 4. Ramnaresh Sarwan, 5. Carlton Baugh (wkt), 6. Omari Banks, 7. Vasbert Drakes, 8. Merv Dillon, 9. Ricardo Powell, 10. Corey Collymore 11. Marlon Samuels.

2nd ODI - Australia won

West Indies captain Brian Lara, left, shares a joke with Australia's captain Ricky Ponting as they walk off the field.
This is just getting better and better. Australia having now won the first two of best 7 ODIs series, taking their winning run streak to 19 Matches! WOW!
Finally, Lara used his brain, decided to bat first after winning the toss with no use as Lee struck in the second over. Nice catch, Brett! I don't understand why Lara decided to send Powell at the 6th spot while he was pretty confident in the yesterday's game. At least, he could have established big parternership with Chris Gayle.

West Indies captain Brian Lara, right, walks off the field as Andy Bichel, left, Adam Gilchrist, center, and Matthew Hayden celebrate Lara's dismissal.

*Carlton Baugh bowled by Glenn McGrath. Back-to-back bowled the same batsman by taking out the middle stump. Poof :~) *
[thumb=B]l821792grath.JPG[/thumb]
Glenn McGrath, right, is congratulated by captain Ricky Ponting after McGrath bowled Vasbert Drakes.
Bichel, Hogg and Gillispie did their job and what a fine performance by McGrath. Outstanding figures!
[thumb=B]l821986ricky1.JPG[/thumb]
Ricky Ponting, right, hits a boundary as West Indies wicket keeper Carlton Baugh looks on.
[thumb=B]l821971ricky.JPG[/thumb]
Ricky Ponting of Australia raises his bat after reach a half century!
Ah! What a fine knock by the skipper himself. Back-to-back half century! This guy is a luckiest man alive, leading a team who just knows winning. Great knock by Hayden, too. Finally, he's been waken up.
There's no stoppin' to Aussies winning streak. They are able to snatch the match gone out of their hands. Are Aussies beatable? Yes, they are if you play just like they do.
So ??? That was my prediction like many others made their prediction…why dont you start quoting them one by one.
Height of Obsession ![]()
munney, just becoz the aussies made a mockery out of your team doesnt mean anyone else cant beat em…
