first thing i would do would hold a nation wide referendum under a fair electoral system on banning any pakistani from
(i) holding the office of prime minister/president for more than 2 terms (in succession or otherwise)
(ii) instigating a coup (military or otherwise) against an elected parliament
results will go into the constitution, not subject to amendment, and repealable only by carrying out another referendum, requiring 90% or more votes in favor

Dear dushwari..president has nothing to do with elections....
its the job of Chief Election Comissioner...Justice(R) farooq in this case..a famosu and good man..but became a little controversial in removing a 63 aricle from prerequisites of presendial election....on 10 september ....
but as long as ...Musharraf is sitting on..just forget about fair and free election..it willbe rigged one..like in 2002....
As US wants Musahhraf + Bainazir + MQM like moderates that can kill..more tribal people as we are killing right now...
MMA ... and NAwaz are noot in good books of US as he declined thier 5 phone calls..and made pakistan a nuclear power....also he is pro islamic...

as long as Musharraf ..ISI..and MI and other agencies are not get lost from this political arena......there will be no fair and free elections..

in india..there is a fantastic election commission with a lot of powers..last time..Chief lection Commissioner orderec Vajpai...not to use helicopter of government for his camaign..and he acted accordingly..otherwise ..election Commission has autority to take action although he was prime minister of india...
last time there were about 43 crore votes casted in india..and i think..at only 2 polling stations..theer were compalints of some hanky panky...you can imagine ..how good is thier sytem..as compared to us....
reason...clearly..there is no General thier..as we have blessed people of having general's long 35 years here in our country...
