I have been getting calls from (416) 916-1091 even though I am listed on donotcall I also tried to register a complain it didn’t went through as this is not a US number. I don’t mind anonymous calls but at least someone should speak up only thing I hear after I pick up is a beep and call disconnects. I tried to call them my intentions were to threat that person or company who is calling me twice or thrice everyday but I only get voice message asking for some college fund. Currently I am not picking up the phone when I get call from this number but still it is annoying.
Does anyone knows any application which can blocks phone number? I am using an iPhone and am ATT subscriber.

Assign a silent ringtone to the number. You will first have to add the number as a contact on your iphone. This is what I did to block a telemarketer calling me every couple of days.

For the Windows Mobile phones there's an application called the Call Firewall (version 1.4).
Using that you can block out certain numbers or even setup masks (look below for details) to block your phone from ringing. There are option to send a reply SMS.
Another option is to get a Google Voice number and give that out to people. That service has a lot more features. But I guess its not going to help with someone already calling your direct cell phone.
Number Masks:
- If you want to block all calls from 202-485-60* (includes all numbers from 6001 - 6009)
- If you want to block all calls from 703* (all calls from area code 703 blocked)
etc

Samsung has a built in call blocker in some of their cell phones models.
Nokia (Symbian based) phones have different application that you can use to block a call from known and unknown numbers-
Window Mobile based phone has also few call blockers softwares as the one stated by Tofi
Sony Ericsson has not such option unless they are symbian based of windows mobile based.
For others I dont know. First tell me what model of cell phone do you own?

what do u do if u have the same anon calls pb on ur landline fone in the uk
yes im registered with that cps service thingy but the calls still coming some as early as 5am 
n all i hear is a long beep n the fone stays engaged for a good 5-8 mins

These are like "0" calls and the reasons of such calls is that the acceptor got billed.

I don't know may be that telemarketer was reading this thread too. Since, I assign silent ring-tone to this number I haven't receive any call. There were no calls all day yesterday and so far none today. :)

if all else software-wise fails, file a police report with your local police office..
i wouldnt know if it will help, but u can try registering ur number at canadian do-not-call list as well.. maybe that might help
