Re: Apple's '5' event on 12th september

hahaha, that is funny

Re: Apple's '5' event on 12th september

Theres always next year :D

Here's to hoping the smacktalk Apple faces all around will force them to pull out all stops on the next phone. For now, i'm content with the 4. But for how long...is anyone's guess.

I say iPhone 5 is more like iPhone 4S-E (Extended)

Re: Apple’s ‘5’ event on 12th september

I am happy with the phone and more happy with the stock price. Chaa ching :biggthumb:
I will take some pictures of the IP5 tonight and post up here.

Re: Apple's '5' event on 12th september

See no matter what we analyze, IP5 is still going to be the fastest/highest selling phone in the smart phone history. Apple ran out of original inventory in first 4 hours.

Re: Apple's '5' event on 12th september

yep... like I say... it may not be the best phone, but certainly may be the best-selling phone.

Apple has a hard-core customer following who swear by their products & one's gotta commend their marketing efforts!

Re: Apple’s ‘5’ event on 12th september

^ fans are queuing up a week in advance outside apple store.

Jobs rooh must be shouting in his grave, in your face S3

Re: Apple's '5' event on 12th september

Well, it's a monkey see monkey do world out there now isn't it :p!

Re: Apple’s ‘5’ event on 12th september

the truth of the matter is… S3 or no S3, Apple loyalists will always do this. For many, it’s the “cool” factor of having the iPhone first.

In my line of work, we study end-user behavior in technology adoption and Apple loyalists are well known to relate their purchases to their own personal image.

Image is a very strong determinant of adoption in Apple’s case… followed by Ease of Use… while for other tech vendors, it tends to be Usefulness, Ease of Use, Personal Innovativeness etc.

dare I say it's iMarketing to the iSheep :D

Re: Apple's '5' event on 12th september

Say it :D!

Re: Apple’s ‘5’ event on 12th september

I’ve been saying that for years now.:snooty:

Re: Apple's '5' event on 12th september

^yup I agree with you...ppl just want to look COOOOOOOOL!!! and it is so silly that they line-up for a phone one week in advance...obviously they have nothing better to do with their lives!

Re: Apple’s ‘5’ event on 12th september

I know you have but pity no one listens to Canadians

And I agree, with iPhones it’s an image thing. I’ve been trying to talk my friend into switching from her phone as she’s due for an upgrade. (On a side note, if she gets an S3, she will be my 6th or 7th convert as a result of my personal dawaah-e-S3 :naak:). Anyway, so I’m talking to her and tell her about S3, the features and flexibility, etc etc… after EVERYTHING, she says, well everyone in my circle knows about iPhones but no-one has heard of your Samsung Glaxo thingie .

Thennnnn, I am chatting with hubby’s best friend’s wife on FB, and again, she’s like there’s more women on my FB who know of iPhones than this phone ur talking about. Sheeshhhhhh!

But you see what I’m saying?

Re: Apple’s ‘5’ event on 12th september

lining up one week in advance is silly, but Apply loyalist are Apple loyalist because whether we like it or not, till the release of S3 (and even after the release), Apple offers one of the best eco-system in IPhone and iOS combo. You just cannot beat that. I want to see S3 selling for $3700 in gray market.

Russian Gray Market Offers Yuppies IPhone 5 for $3,700 - Bloomberg

Point is this that we cannot pooh pooh the great phone that apple offers because of some lunatic loyalties. That loyalty after all, came out of the amazing products that Apple offers, one after the other, with consistency, without fail cycles (like Microsoft goes through in Windows)

Re: Apple's '5' event on 12th september

I don't think anyone is denying that apple products are indeed really top notch. Have been for years but it can't be denied that a fairly big portion of iproduct users get them because its an apple product. I suppose it only goes to show apple not only produces great products but is really good at marketing.

Re: Apple's '5' event on 12th september

^^ Yes I agree that Apple makes superior laptops/computers (and there are people who will argue about that as well, of course). I would never switch from my MacBook Air to any other laptop. This is perfect.

But their iPhone really isn't anything extraordinary. It's like someone buying ShahRukh Khan's vest from Om Shanthi Om...now someone like me wouldn't want that anywhere near my home, but ask an SRK fan, he'll even sleep with it. There's enough such folks out there who are totally into glamor and obsession.

hawwwwwwwwwwwww :rotfl:

Re: Apple's '5' event on 12th september

Iphone is still a great product and the best thing is that its manufactured by a company with proven record of quality, secure and great looking products. Apple created credibility with predictability. I want to know another company that brings out next version of its product, every year, and each year product sells more than last years.

S3 could very well be a market fluke. Who knows if Samsung can create a legacy like Iphone or not? Who knows if S4 is not going to be a disaster, or is there going to be a S4 at all? What will happen to all S3 fans 2 years later when they are stuck with an old phone and no new phone in sight? I heard pretty bad reviews of S2 and how when it was new, it was awesome but one year down, battery gave up and phone became slow and sluggish.

My thing is that Android OS and S3 hardware are manufactured by two diff companies. Future releases of both products can never be as harmonious as Apple's. Google is not going to share it secret with Samsung and Samsung would not do it with Google. Apple does not face this road block as she owns both software and hardware. Apple is in a position of strength that Samsung would never find herself to be in.
