You have to understand that MacBook Air is aimed at a very niche market. Those who don't mind a non-replacable 5 hr battery, who need very few connectivity options, will likely just be using it under WiFi environments, are rich and are so style-concious that they are willing to pay approx $650 more (than comparable MacBooks) for something that seems to have been dropped from another planet (when compared to other ultra-portables) in terms of advanced styling.
