Like I have said before, the only issue with android is that it cannot control the hardware from other companies like LG, Samsung and Sony. Thats why you see the nexus line in total control when it comes to Android since google get to design the hardware and they know what OS changes will come in the future. Apple on the other hand is playing with users who just buy it for status symbol rather than a gadget.

You still have the 18 month product cycle which apple readily beats.

Compare that to iphone 4. It was released in June of 2010 and technically it still is under software updates (iOS 8 hasn’t come out yet), but even if we go by last update iOS 7.1.2 release date of June 2014, then it is a solid 4 years of support. New CDMA versions were released in February - April 2011, so still 3 years of solid OS support. Can you find that anywhere in Android?

Believe me, i passed on a first gen nexus to my sister and she likes it for wifi use. Personally, I am hesitant to buy samsung phones with their att, touchwhiz junk, but when you get to nexus, you lose the SD card functionality just like Apple. Sure, it is easy to attach documents and mod it more so than jailbreaking iphones since I don’t know if you can install a brand new cyogen moded iOS, but you can see android clearly doesn’t win here.

I know that geeks here, guys and girls included, mod their phones but let us be realistic. How many people do you know err regular people who are modding their phones? Samsung, LG etc didn’t become rich because people were modding their phones!
