This disaster proved my apprehension about the running of Railways few days ago before this tragedy. Please read under thread Quetta-Peshawar direct railway service approved

How in the hell driver of Karachi Express misread the signal? The signaling system on main line is quite modern and can not be fooled around. When Quetta Express was standing on mainline what was the aspect of outer and home signals? The distance between home and rear of Quetta express was about 5 kilometers, and outer signals should show red. No one can change the aspect of outer/home signals including station master if the line is blocked. If driver overshot the signals he should have gone to loop line and in to sand hump not on the main line according safety standards.
This shows total failure and chaotic Railway as an organization. People should think million times to travel in P. Railways if they want to be remain alive. There is greater need for the railways to be re-organized, starting form decentralization and closing of HQ at Lahore.
