I will be doing undergraduate research for my Applied Math degree this fall InshaAllah. Unfortunately I still dont have a topic yet:( I would like to emphasise on Stats., Dynamical systems or as a last resort, Abstract Algebra. Any one has any good ideas???Please keep in mind, this is UNDERGRAD research, so I dont have to solve an open problem or anything. Just something interesting. I have no idea on what to do and this is just killing me.

Well, since I got so much help from you guys, I have decided on a topic…with help from my prof.:nahnah:
I will be doing research on “Point Pattern Analysis”. We are going to start with a sample of hickory trees(dunno what they call them in urdu). I am gonna start with finding distance to the nearest neighbours and then see if the way the trees grow is random or there is some pattern to it.
