consider in society if husband is older, he would be more mature and able to take care of his family in terms of financial as well. But if we see example of our Prophet (PBUH), then our existing practice are worthless.

But how does it changed culturally? As this was pretty common in almost all cultures across the world.

Regarding Arabs, if I remember correctly there was a formula for bride’s age followed in Arab society. Groom’s age / 2 + 9.

But again, society was not hostile towards marriages where this was not followed.
