APDM fail to reach concusses for boycott. PML(N) taking part in elections...

So much for “restoration of judges” and “boycott of election”
:rotfl:

I said before they are not going to boycott it…and Sharif brothers promised Shah Abdullah of SA that they will not take part in Elections, and everything is going as script…

APDM fail to reach concusses for boycott. PML(N) taking part in elections…

After 7 hour long meeting APDM failed to decide if they want to take part in election or not. PML(N)’s NAwaz sharif has announced that PML(N) WILL TAKE PART IN ELECTION AS A PROTEST ( :hehe: and I thought that protest is that you DON’T Take part in election)

QAZI HUSSAIN AHMED denied commenting on boycott question and said that JI’s party meeting will decide about the boycott ( u know what JI’s party meeting will decide)

RAJA ZAFARUL HAQ said that we will take part in election but we are still firm on “restoration of judges demand” (:rotfl: what a joke)

IMMI BHAI has called another IJLAAAS of APDM at his residence

Re: APDM fail to reach concusses for boycott. PML(N) taking part in elections...

once again Immi will be left alone. At least he got some principles. Rest of the APDM are all topi drama.

Re: APDM fail to reach concusses for boycott. PML(N) taking part in elections...

next they'll ask ppl to elect them so they can restore the judges

Re: APDM fail to reach concusses for boycott. PML(N) taking part in elections...

They have completely damaged their political charisma...or if they had any.

Re: APDM fail to reach concusses for boycott. PML(N) taking part in elections...

The only people shouting for 'principles' are the ones who already know that they are not going to win any seats (Immi, Qazi and other Tonga parties).

The politics of agitation have no value for Pakistan's awam. If instead of following Thief Justice in his personal anti-Musharraf campaign, the political parties had concentrated on making a united front, they could have gotten into a position where they could easiy win 2/3 of the seats, no matter how badly the elections were rigged. Once they had achieved 2/3 majority, they could restore constitution, even throw Musharraf out if they wanted to. And all these would have been achieved through peaceful democratic means and in the process awam and politicians would have learned how useful democracy can be when practices properly. Instead they decided to follow the Thief Justice and put the whole transition to democracy in jeopardy.

**** Immi Khan.

Re: APDM fail to reach concusses for boycott. PML(N) taking part in elections…

Transition to democracy :hehe: Big words.

So you do think that upcoming elections can or will be rigged? And if they are heavily rigged, you think these oppostion parties will get 2/3rd majority? How in the world will that be possible. This will only mean that ISI is incompetant that it cant even rig the elections when the election commission and judiciary consists of people that Mushy handpicked for a smooth transition to democracy.

Re: APDM fail to reach concusses for boycott. PML(N) taking part in elections…

**^^^ hahaha… what a ending of a long running drama… Classic style.. Ch ch ch .. What will be happen to Immi bhai? …Everything is according to plan, Musharraf proved he is great strategists..

God bless President Musharraf to write in his plan to let apdm take apart in elections.. :jhanda:**

Re: APDM fail to reach concusses for boycott. PML(N) taking part in elections…

That he is. I give you that much. But elections will still be rigged whether there is an APDM or not.

What will happen to Immi Bhai? He will always be a thorn on the side of MQM thugs and their supporters.

God Bless ISI :jhanda:

Re: APDM fail to reach concusses for boycott. PML(N) taking part in elections…

**It have to be rigged now, coz ex-cj make it hard to let mushi continue towards democracy. Now he have to support rigged elections & top-drama parliament again for giving Constitutional status to his changes. Pathetic job done by ex-cj.

God bless President Musharraf for topi-drama parliament :jhanda: .. **

Re: APDM fail to reach concusses for boycott. PML(N) taking part in elections…

No matter how rigged elections are, Nawaz Sharif and Benazir will always get 2/3 majority .. that’s what I was saying…

that is if they both focused on running their campaigns instead of following the fringe tonga parties like Imran Khan and company!

Re: APDM fail to reach concusses for boycott. PML(N) taking part in elections…

**2/3 .. lol.. you are very very optimistic about Nawaz/Be-nazir & else else.. "zamanii halaat " are very much different now.. PMl-Q going to get atlesat 2/3 majority in NA and atleast 60 seats in PA. This is already settled betwen Nawaz & Hidden Man.

Else… .. and else.. President Musharraf is the President & Pm can be Chauhdrey Pervaiz Elahi … or Immi bhai..

God bless President Musharraf for helping Imran Khan to win his only seat from Mian Wali .. :jhanda:**

Re: APDM fail to reach concusses for boycott. PML(N) taking part in elections…

NS left Lawyers and Immi Bhai in the middle of nowhere . … NS was potted and watered by establishment and he dont have guts to stand against them. He knows that if he dont take part in elections, he will be history soon …

For once right or wrong, Immi Bhai is sticking to his words (k), now lets see if Qazi will stick to his words or will lick his own words

**The former prime minister’s party will join Bhutto’s in contesting parliamentary elections. He previously said he would stay away if deposed judges weren’t reinstated.

December 10, 2007

KARACHI, PAKISTAN – Bending to political realities, former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif abandoned his threat to boycott next month’s parliamentary elections, agreeing Sunday to allow his party to compete in the Jan. 8 vote aimed at restoring democratic rule.

His decision means both major opposition parties, the other headed by former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, will contest the vote.

But the move marks an embarrassing, if not unexpected, about-face for Sharif. The two-time prime minister had insisted his party would not put up candidates unless President Pervez Musharraf reinstated the judges fired Nov. 3 ( :nono: ), when he suspended the constitution and imposed emergency rule.

Restoring the former judiciary has been the central demand of lawyers, judges and students who have been at the forefront of small but tenacious demonstrations against Musharraf.

Musharraf has said the deposed judges will not be allowed back on the bench. He has promised to lift the state of emergency by Dec. 16, a move welcomed by Pakistan’s major Western allies but one that domestic critics say does not go far enough to restore legitimacy to the electoral process.

Some of the country’s most senior lawyers and judges remain in jail or under house arrest, and Sharif had been the most prominent politician to threaten a boycott if they were not reinstated before the vote. But he was unable to persuade Bhutto, leader of the Pakistan People’s Party, to join him in sitting out the election.

Faced with the prospect of the myriad opposition parties exploiting his absence from the campaign, Sharif bowed to pressure from candidates within his party who are eager to run.

“Since we could not reach any agreement with People’s Party and they are contesting polls, we cannot leave the field open,” said Ahsan Iqbal, speaking after Sharif chaired a six-hour meeting with 32 other minor opposition parties that ended without a consensus on whether to boycott.

Both main opposition leaders have said, without providing proof, that they believe the election will be rigged in favor of parties loyal to Musharraf. But Bhutto has said that she prefers to contest the election, while reserving the right to bring her supporters into the streets in protest afterward if there is evidence that the vote was unfair. She says the fate of the judges should be dealt with only after the free election of a new parliament.

Musharraf supporters celebrated Sharif’s decision, arguing that the participation of the two main opposition parties certifies the legitimacy of the election.

The country’s election commission has barred Sharif from running as a candidate, citing a criminal conviction from 1999 when, as prime minister, he tried unsuccessfully to stave off the coup that brought Musharraf to power.

But most analysts here say the participation of Sharif’s party will take votes from Musharraf backers, thereby boosting Bhutto’s prospects of becoming prime minister.

Sharif, however, now leaves the lawyers movement largely abandoned in its confrontation with Musharraf. (:D) Just a day earlier, a national convention of bar association leaders had called on political parties to boycott the election. With many of Pakistan’s most senior lawyers in jail or under house arrest, the lawyers and human rights activists have emerged as the conscience of the anti-Musharraf forces.

The decision by the two main parties to run has stoked a sense that Pakistani politics remains in the grip of long-standing personal rivalries and power struggles.

“Benazir’s party became popular by confronting the establishment, not compromising with it,” says Iqbal Haider, a lawyer who heads Pakistan’s Human Rights Commission and was a justice minister under Bhutto. "Musharraf was totally isolated, and a boycott would have been the end of him.

“Now they have given him a life-saving injection instead of the kiss of death.”

All falling into line with Musharraf’s grand plan. :k:

Re: APDM fail to reach concusses for boycott. PML(N) taking part in elections...

You mean a 'consensus', *though you would prefer a **concusses*

Im not surprised, this amalgam of 20+ parties usually lasts till elections, after that its p00f!

Re: APDM fail to reach concusses for boycott. PML(N) taking part in elections...

p.s. the reasons why these sell outs dont act like they should is because their party hasnt been in power for a while, stock is low, their members need a 'hefty' paycheck which they will only get once they are MNAs and MPAs.
