Apartments in NY/CT

How much do apartments usually cost to rent in NY or the CT area? They dont have to be in the city center , suburbs are just fine too. From what I have heard, CT area has much expensive accomodation then NY. I could use some help from the tri-state guppies regarding this.

Re: Apartments in NY/CT

Re: Apartments in NY/CT

I am not sure yet where we are going to be staying yet. Not sure about CT or NY, thats why i asked for both. My bro-inlaw to be stays in Stamford so might be staying close to him. Abhi kuch nahi pata.
So stamford is about 30 mins away from NY? That aint bad. And did you mean the apts are 800/1-bedroom in NY or CT? Shukran jazeelan Shehzad for your help. I could really use your help.

Re: Apartments in NY/CT

Okay I would recommend getting an apartment in the boroughs, if you watn to stay in New York City: Brnx, brooklyn and queens. Apartments in Manhattan are very expensive. Wher will you be working?

Re: Apartments in NY/CT

Check out www.craigslist.org and click on the NYC link. It'll give you listings for apartments for any area you may want to rent in.

Re: Apartments in NY/CT

The rents are pretty much inversely proportionate (with a few exceptions) to the distance from NYC. You could also check out Norther NJ, some areas are very reasonably priced.

Re: Apartments in NY/CT

Hi! along with this same post, i would like to ask the new yorkers which areas are to be avoided in Newyork. i know bridgeport is mentioned above so any other ones?

Re: Apartments in NY/CT

Bridgeport is not in NY :p That's CT. Stay away from Harlem and some part of Bronx. But then I've heard that even those areas are getting cleaned up.

Re: Apartments in NY/CT

I'd stay out of the bronx if i was u dude..

Re: Apartments in NY/CT

I was in the tristate area a couple weeks ago and it all seemed the same to me : shabby looking, crowded and dirty! :(

What is the reason you guys dont like the Bronx?
