Apartments in NJ or NY!

I will be in NJ next yr. for about 7 months. What would be a good way to find an economical accomodation there (i don’t want to end up with some crazy ppl  )?

any good websites?

P.S. the stress is on e c o n o m i c a l

Depends on your budget and requirements. A nice apartment 1-bedroom in queens would be about $1000. I used to live there, had a 2 bedroom place. Here's the agent phone: Kraham Real Estate on Queens Blvd., Forest Hills.`

where in NJ ??

^ i will be in montvale.. but i could look into a place which is within 20 miles from montvale

Try this web site: http://www.nj.com/rentals/apts/index.ssf
Or http://www.nj.com/ and find “All Classified”, “Real Estate” links in the right frame.

Hope that helps.

thanx for the replies...i will also check with the students at rutgers.

hey if your going to nj and need an apartment then any where near rutgers its almost impossible to find anything lower than 1000.

unless of course you plan on living with other people and splitting the cost.

if you down to trenton, its like 30 min away from rutgers.. 400 bucks u can rent your own room bathroom and kitchen.

note some one gets shot there daily by the way

^i will be working in montvale and the nearest campus for me would the one in newark.

how much is one supposed to be concerned about the 'crime' in nj? and how can u tell which neighbourhood is safer than the other?

craigslist.com

do apartment searches without brokers. you can also look for share.

i once found a short term rental (4 months) for a friend who was coming to the US... this pakistani guy went home for a few months, so he let out his fully furnished place. apparently it worked out very well for my friend.
