. The other day went over to a friend’s house her cousin came up to me and goes ‘abhy meiN ne suna tu 3rd yr me gaye hai nia’ and i am standing there thinking she can’t be talking to me no-way. I kinda ignored her, then my friend goes ‘nia tum se bat kar rahe hai’ and i went ‘tameez nam ke cheez is ko kese ne nahee seekhai’.

. Calling those who are older then you ‘baji’ and ‘bhai’ is a very polite and sounds very decent.
I have seen several families where a brother who is 2 min younger then his sister (twins duh) calling her ‘baji’ sound very polite. Respecting our elders is something that we learn from the day we start saying ‘mama’ ‘abbu’. I just find it very impolite and rude when i hear a brother caling his sister by her name who happens to be 10 or 15 yr older.

PErsonally I like being called Ali. My cousins who call me Ali bhayee or whatever. I am like yaar call me Ali. Frank ho bandaa banda khul dul kay baat karta hay!

..to me its the respect and love people give me not just words..my brother who is about 1 year 8 months younger than me call me by my name..but i know how much he loves me and respects me..so i never had any problems with him when he calls me by my name ..one of cousin who is 3 years old calls me by my name..and again i love the way she calls my name..coz for her i am like her little friend…so I guess i do accept both ways depending on the person..
A while ago it used to be quite difficult for me to understand why some people find it difficult to digest extra respect. I used to call someone Aunty as she is roughly 10-15 years older than me and I found out that she really mind if I call her Aunty so I started calling her bhabi and it sounds so weired coming out of my mouth.
I don’t mind if kids call me uncle as it sounds so nice coming out of their mouth and it just tells me that I am more mature and I don’t understand why people liek to be so kid like and try to hide their age. Hell, even men have started to doing it.

wait for them to talk to me, so its easier. my fav words r bhayaa, apppi n i like deedee aswell for sum reason, which is my amma gets all the bachoongras to call me appi.
