I have been hearing very good reviews regarding open office in that it is Free and provides all features of Word, Excel, Powerpoint and is compatible with them as well.
I want to buy a cheap computer in the future and am thinking of just using open office instead of Microsoft Office suite.
I installed it 5-6 years ago. .when it was known as Star Office, .. but it was slow.. and sucks. Then after moving into IT career, where Ms Office is standard, specially in corporate where Exchange, Sharepoint, Biztalk came in. Outlook & MS Office is the must. Call it Microsoft monopoly or else.. that's how it is.
I used to use MS Office from the time i learnt to use computers…now they are forcing us to use Open Office in office…Its a bit slow, most if not all the features are there:(
But the Excel na, the macro feature is a bit toooo too sad for me. And the formatting of pics, table formatting in the word is so so so so much easier:(.
I just cant seem to get hang of it:crying:. If you are getting for home, then i dont think its a problem at all:)
