Re: Anyone use Linux?
I'm a student at high-school and I'm interested in computers, I might become a computer engineer...right now im taking computer science II AP and learning how to program in Java.
Can you guys recommend any classes i should take in college?
Re: Anyone use Linux?
From waht you just said, youre on the track to become a CS major, rather than a computer engineer... microcontrollers, hardware design etc, is more computer/electrical engineering oriented, programming alone isnt engineering, so keep that in mind before choosing majors... if youre into embedded design involving electrical systems, circuitory, PCBs, PLCs, controllers, digital communication, then engineering is the way to go... make sure youre good at maths, as EE courses require alot of mathematics...
if that sounds appealing... start taking some intensive physics courses, perhaps some intro into semi-conductors, or basic circuit analysis courses, dont just focus on programming... Also, some advanced mathematics courses, involving differential equations would be good too, and start studying discrete mathematics as well.
