if they accept indian currency then how is the transaction, suppose if you buy something for 10 Nepali rupees, is it less in indian currency or i need to pay same 10 indian rupees

It was a long time back. But from what I remember Nepali rupee is cheaper than Indian rupee. You can google it. As for whether they accept Indian rupees at local shops, I have no idea.
But for site seeing, do check out Pokhara, Nagarkot, and Mirik.

I've been to Kathmandu and Pokhara...some of my relatives do business there...there are a surprising number of Kashmiris settled in Kathmandu.
As far as currency is concerned, Indian Rupees are widely accepted...in fact, I'd say they're preferred, since Nepalese Rupees are hardly worth the paper they're printed on. Virtually every shopkeeper knows an approximate conversion rate (I think it was like 5 to 8 the last time I went), so you pay less when you use Indian currency.
